Rivers are like women. You always compare them to the best you've every had. I rode that one, and I wasn't impressed. The best I've ever had was the Arkansas River in the Royal Gorge in Colorado.

The weirdest one I have seen is like a giant toilet bowl and you kinda get "flushed" you spin around a few times then drop out the bottom into a pool. I saw it on the travel channel IIRC.

Was expecting this link to be boring and lame.

Now I have my travel plans for the next couple years.

Also, I realize I may need to strengthen my ass muscles to mitigate the massive wedgie these things produce.

I have a soft spot for visiting abandoned amusement/theme parks. They're really pretty awesome. Last weekend I took the trek up to Holy Land USA and it was great. Hopefully I'll get a chance to hit up another place or two this summer, always fun adventures.

Grew up a few towns over, still remember seeing all the billboards. I had to fight off the urge to get a can of spray paint, put an asterisk next to the price and then put at the bottom "Includes a FREE trip to Newton Memorial Hospital!"

Would only matter there if the moon was in geostationary orbit. Different parts of the earth do experience different acceleration downwards due to the rotation of the earth - you weigh slightly less at the equator - but that's a minor difference.
However, if this water slide were built on top of a naturally occurring concentration of a really dense mineral, like osmium or uranium, then one would experience a higher gravitational acceleration there than elsewhere.

To get to 2.5g, you only need 2.2*10^13 kg of mass under there, or 22 trillion kilograms, so, not that bad. It may seem huge, but you're actually smaller than many big asteroids. For example, this guy is 5*10^13kg and is only 4.5x2.4x1.9km. But, osmium is 10 times denser, so shrink those down and you're basically talking about something the size of the Pentagon.
Big, but not impossible*.

If you got to the Arenal volcano area in Costa Rica there is a "Hot springs" water park that has a slide that will jack you up if you don't go down it with perfect form. On your way down there is a steep drop that wasn't designed very well, you will actually come off the slide as you over the top and then slam back into it as it flattens out. you must protect ya neck.

But a tunnel underneath the block would be weightless? That would be usefull. The question is how far this 2G effect would be significant. A few inches, a few feet, or more? Withoug breaking out my physics books, I'm going to guess it wouldn't extend out of the block by much if at all.

I based my calculations on 10m from the center, so... no, not that far.
Plus, you'd get wicked tidal effects due to the difference in pull from your head to your feet.
