My family came to this country in about 1670, fought in every war from that time for this country. Number of them buried at Arlington, proud of 'em and am thankful that they are remembered.

Every remembrance article I've read to day has followed the same argument line: "You aren't appreciative at all, but maybe today you can just stop chugging Miller Lite and eating Hebrew Nationals just long to ever so briefly remember the sacrifices of our troops. You're probably too selfish to muster even that, so I wrote up this heartfelt personal essay because I'm so much more patriotic and thankful than you'll ever be. Oh, and did I mention that I'm a complete asshole who never served?"

Funny how the people who served don't make a big deal of it. But the people who had the chance and didn't sacrifice, turn it into some big guilt trip.

And when exactly is the day when we burn in effigy all the power hungry assholes and corporations and religious maniacs that drug us into this shiat in the first place?

I live in California and have seen of course many, many more American flags put up for Memorial Day.

I have also seen lots more Mexico flags going up???? Is this people from Mexico's way of showing support or is this just another Fark you America this was our land first???

I'm not sure what to think but it does not seem to be a good idea.
