They are particularly interested in understanding how certain pollutants react with nitrogen oxides produced by lightening to generate ozone....

Unfortunately TFA is not about the formation of thunderstorms, it is kind of, but they are trying to detect ozone and chemical composition of the atmosphere at the top of a storm to see what is 'sucked up' from the surface and how much ozone is generated by lightning cooking the air / pollutants. Would be cool if it was the anatomy of the storm from start to finish....but it's not.

Unless the headline was referring to the picture, which labels 3 parts of a thunderstorm.

/Pathetic headline is pathetic.

OTOH, I did learn that there's a town in OK named Cheyenne.
