Sometimes I wonder if the government intentionally encourages the UFO, Troofer, and chemtrail people so that people don't look at the real, but far more boring shenanigans that it really does.

Quite possible - when you have very loud mad people screaming at you constantly about insane things, it's easy to let the mundane, but important stuff slip past.

I suppose I should say that I put this comment in before the flood of "CHEMTRAILS = GOVERNMENT DOUSING THE POPULATION PROGRAM" people.

Came here to say this. Thank you.

Our airport averages over 300 takeoff/landings per day. I'd be concerned if I looked up in the sky and didn't see vapor trails.

That said, lenticular clouds are pretty cool.

2012-05-28 10:56:07 AM
Subby's a tard. Looks like a bunch of lenticular clouds to me (notice the mountains under, oh, I dunno, ALL of them?).

2012-05-28 10:59:52 AM
So, were saying these are chemtrails/contrails, and not standing lenticular clouds?

Here's your learning time

All these are in or near mountain tops. That's your giveaway.

Outlaw2097: So, were saying these are chemtrails/contrails, and not standing lenticular clouds?

The article mentions they're lenticular clouds right away. Dunno where subby got the chemtrail thing. Maybe he's off his meds.

But on the subject of con/chemtrails, we get lots of air traffic where i'm at in Canada. Usually 2 planes in the sky at any given moment. And i never see the gigantic trails all over the sky which seem to be common in the States. Most planes here leave nothing at all in their wake.

Not saying everything claimed about them is true, but that does strike me as unusual. If it's easily explained by natural causes, then why doesn't it happen worldwide?

Temperature and humidity. How high are the planes flying in your area, and how saturated is the air?

Contrails form when water vapor in the exhaust freezes and raises local humidity past the saturation point. If the plane is flying at a lower altitude (usually below about 3 or 4 miles) the air is warm enough that the local increase in humidity does not exceed the dew point.

In short, we would not expect them to form everywhere. It would be weird if they did.

Only if you're a passenger of the car and the driver is cloudbursting.

Yeah, and I think it went over most people's heads. Fark isn't exactly a pool of Mensa candidates. I was scratching my head at first, but it seems obvious to me now. (Not a Mensa candidate myself) Too bad, it is pretty clever. And I'm a big fan of subtle, even when I miss it.

Gee, I wonder if it might have to do with something scientific that you're not knowledgeable about?

"Contrail formation is dependent upon the temperature, relative humidity, and pressure at which the vehicle is flying as well as the ratio of moisture to heat produced by the vehicle's engine. In particular, the ambient air must be at low temperature and low vapor pressure."

I expect it took me about as long to look that up as it took you to speculate about it and post your suspicious query. We get a lot of air traffic where I am (between Boston and New York). I often see contrails, but not always. It varies with the weather. Your weather might be consistently unsuitable to their formation. Or maybe you're not really paying attention, and operating from selection bias. And please, tell us more about your "worldwide" theories about this -- it's riveting stuff. Better yet, call up Coast to Coast and tell them: they'll actually listen. (Paranoia is big money, doncha know.)

Not saying people are intellectually lazy, but that does strike me as willfully ignorant. If it's easily researched by literate humans, then why don't they know?

It's Atlantic Canada, which are ideal conditions to form them. And all jets fly at an altitude of 30-35k feet unless they've just taken off or are about to land.

I know what a contrail looks like. Maybe i wasn't clear, or maybe you two got a little excited, but I'm not denying the existence of condensation at altitude, and i see thin trails of it behind behind most planes, which dissipates pretty quickly. What i'm speaking about specifically are the gigantic clouds that hang in the air for entire days, which are explained away as contrails, and some people call chemtrails. I never see those here.

I think subby was out to make a passing grade in Trolling 101. He managed to use UFO and a common idiotic conspiracy theory in one shot while linking to an article that doesn't feature either.

How about you post a picture of what you're asking about, or a link to a picture. Your description is not sufficiently detailed for me to offer an informed answer.

Why don't you google around for some instead of asking me to? The subject is clearly more important to you and Sylvia than it is to me. I just stated that i never see here what people call chemtrails in the US, and left it at that. If you don't know what people are calling chemtrails in the US, then you shouldn't have even opened your mouth in the first place.

Because, as I said, I am not certain what you want me to explain. I gave you an answer to the question I thought you were asking. You've now informed me that you were not asking about what I thought you were asking about. I'll be happy to try to answer the question if I know what the question actually is.

Well, you see, I actually do know what people are calling "chemtrails" in the US; they are contrails. The people using that term are "confused," to put it politely.

And there is really no call for your rudeness. Girls might like you if you lightened up a little bit.

It really is the dumbest of all conspiracy theories. I mean let me see, I would like to poison the population through the air (rather than the water which would be way easier), So why don't I get a bunch of planes to fly at high altitude and spray chemicals in very long narrow trails that are visible to anyone who looks up, and typically stay in the air, rather than float down to the ground where the people I want to poison are.

Gigantic clouds created by airplanes that hang in place for an entire day are fictional, which is likely why you never see them.

What people take pictures of and call chemtrails are most definitely present in Atlantic Canada.

This. Especially considering the powers that be breathe the same air as the people they would be poisoning...

Chemtrails are not about poisoning the people. I's about altering the food supply. Think Monsanto and GMO. Think bee die offs. Think CONTROL.

Wow, OK, I gave you the benefit of the doubt by actually including a quote from the movie that your username references. I honestly wanted you to be trolling, but it turns out that you're just kind of dumb.
