They better farking not try to pull an incest angle, subs is kinda trolling but knowing the shiat Lifetime shows that isn't the Golden Girls it's not out of the question. The whole farking weird ass ending of Hannibal has to do with how much she resented her father for trying to be a small town hero while having a family and how she and her mother had to survive afterwards. I mean Lecter dug him up,doped her up and then she had a weird ass moment of closure, albeit in a rather hallucinatory state. Then after that her and Lecter start farking. Kinda messed up yet at the same time Lecter is still dealing with his little sister being eaten by soldiers during WW2. I won't go into Hannibal Rising cause fark that book and it's all kinds of strangeness on its own but at least goes more into the Misha issues Lecter has.
/I must say devotion to your aunt is beheading a guy with a sword after he says something very sexually racist to her.

Not to mention the time she was driven to suicide by cyber bullying, and was only saved because she couldn't get the childproof cap off of the pill bottle.

Will it follow Ghost Whisperer? I love shows with strong central female characters who are able to succeed do to some flukey ability or troubled past. TV knows women folk need extra things to make them rise above and not just because they're great human beings.

Interesting to realize now that both stars in that movie are lesbians.

effect of the movie?

or maybe suggests a lost scene from the movie?

So how many shows will there be with serial killers as the protagonists? It's like Pimps and Assassins have entered the mainstream too. They're almost viable career choices now.

Anyhoo, I rewatched Silence of the Lambs recently and I wish people--including Harris himself--could have just left well enough alone. It was a wonderfully done setpiece, a truly excellent movie. It *did* lead to the present glut of annoying police procedurals on any channel at any time, but that's hardly Demme's fault.

Ummm... I dunno how to say this without just outright saying it: Family Ties ended rather more than 10 years ago
/it ran 1982-1989, to be precise

In the universe of the movie the idea of rape and incest would kind of make sense.

While I do think that is quite an appropriate response to domestic violence that's not the reason I dislike everything they show. It's all just soooooo farking low quality and farking boring. Imagine a channel that shows nothing but terrible movie length knockoffs of L&O:SVU. Think Scifi channel movies but with that kind of flavor. I watched some shiat movie about bullying and I swear that killed more brain cells of mine than any quanity of drugs or booze I've ever did or will do.

Hannibal was the better film (despite its divergence from the novel), and Julianne Moore was the better Clarice. Jodi Foster is one of the most overrated actresses in my book... extremely wooden in most of her roles.

Somewhat interested in the NBC Hannibal series. Maybe House MD's writers, directors, and crew will work on it, now that their show has finished?

If Harris had left well enough alone there wouldn't have been a sequel to Red Dragon.

Yeah, that was my firs thought as well. In both the book and the movie, it's clear that her uncle is abusive and that she was trying to save herself as well as the lamb.

From the related article about the NBC show:
Details on the plot are still sketchy but all that's been said is that the series would "centre on Lecter's early days, namely his time going head-to-head with FBI agent Will Graham."

Well, that might be interesting, except that Red Dragon fairly neatly details how that worked out. The only problem is that it would only work as a one or two season thing. American TV has the tendency to turn any show, no matter how slight or limited the premise, into eight or ten year shows that eventually become completely pointless.

But, yea, I could almost see it working as a one-shot, thirteen episode piece.

And it was done in such a screwed up manner. Why yes Ms.I WILL FOLLOW THE RULES AT ANY COST YET I WILL CATCH THIS BASTARD CANNIBAL would totally fark said cannibal after he drugs her for a long time, digs up her father and then gets her to help eat her bosses brain. Yes Thomas Harris that makes total sense.
