Phone police?

2012-05-27 07:06:03 PM
Badly shaken, the driver of the other vehicle had trouble dialing police. A passerby who offered to help made off with his iPhone, police said.

Not to say the driver does not deserve this, but imagine this happening to the nun. The thief just preyed on someone during an accident. Hope the thief gets struck by a car who drives off.

Also, this took place in Toronto, Canada.

Nice way to delay treatment of the injured.

How is this amusing to anyone other than a serial killer or a thirty-something submitter that still likes to use a magnifying glass to pop pill bugs?

I normally don't condone theft, but if the wreck happened because the driver using said phone, then I say "GOOD!"

Amazing reading comprehension there, slim.

The next step is to use the stolen phone to make death threats against government officials after downloading child porn. If you're going to fark with somebody, do it right.

leevis: At least the guy had the decency to stop and try to get help.

Yeah, I kind of figured this was someone who tried to flee the scene and there was some strange story of vigilantism behind this which lead to his arrest, but nope. Guy stopped, was too shaken to call, and someone preyed on someone else during an accident.

No, no, no.

It's like rock, paper, scissors.

The phone robber needs to get his nose broken by a nun.

Of course in the standard game of "car, nun, robber", people who know each other will tie upwards of 75-80 percent of the time. That's why I recommend, "car, nun, robber, wino, cop".

Yeah - and it's the only thing I specifically opted in for. It's worth it to me to find my iPad and/or iPhone whenever I lay it down somewhere in the house and start panicking after 15 minutes of looking.

/The Find my iPhone app, that is. The nuns have no business knowing my location when I hit them.

So this guy comes upon an accident scene, offers to help and robs those involved. If the nun had died, would the robber face culpibility in the death? I mean the red light runner obviously didn't mean to hurt anyone and did in fact stop. The nun was a victim twice over.

Not if he missed the red light BECAUSE he was looking at the cell phone, instead of paying attention to the road. I don't know if this is, in fact, the case (It's what I suspect). That's why I was being generous by saying "if".

Same. Also useful for when you drop the iPhone in a snow bank in front of your house or in Vegas and some ass picks it up and flies back to a suburb in LA.
