TheDumbBlonde: MTWFS: TheDumbBlonde: Lot's off wind and high waves out on Tybee Island this morning. Feeder bans coming through with wind, but no rain. No raiding of Publix\s either.

Would that be Clinton Tybee? aka "Skink"

That joke blew right over my head in this wind. Still no rain on Whitemarsh Island, GA.

Being a native "Floridiot", I've read most of Carl Hiaasen's stuff. It certainly gives me an appreciation of how the state changed in the 36 years I was gone. Try them, they're a riot. Dark humor drama.

vicejay: Something to note: This is the first time we've had two named Atlantic storms before the official start of the Hurricane Season (June 1) since they began naming storms (1950.)

Also had a named storm in the Pacific.

But remember folks, climate change is just a scientist/liberal elitist conspiracy to take away your freedoms...

Who knew there were so many Charleston people on Fark?

I'm not surprised to find the answer in a hurricane thread.

Good thing you realize that, otherwise they would use that stuff against us or something,....

bluorangefyre: All but six members of my family tree live in that area, so I'm keeping a close eye on it. I guess they've had some fire issues or otherwise dry weather, so this might help.

Sounds like your tree is about to become a stump.

ZOMG where are all the massive killer hurricanes that were going to hit every single year destroying the US economy and rendering the coast uninhabitable like the Warmists said was going to happen? Its been how long since the last serious hurricane? Was it Ike?

*yawn*

This has been the most boring near-hurricane ever. A light breeze, some slight rain... we get summer afternoon thunderstorms that are by far more destructive than this!

Wake me when it's safe to put the plants back up on the balcony. Geez, we haven't even lost power once, and that happens at least once a week during a good thunderstorm. I'm bored now, back to Netflix.

Are you new to the East Coast? This won't even warrant a glance out the window unless you have to go boating or something.

Obscure?

Considering two of us were already trying to remember the others, and someone after you finished it... no. Nothing is obscure on Fark.

No one ever said that except for the idiots who get their scientific knowledge from media outlets. I'm guessing that's you. And yes, Irene was very nasty last year. Didn't you read the news that week?

This what scientifically illiterate people really believe! Oh, they may be cynics about news stations and reality, but they're pretty thrilled to only understand climate change from hysterical media outlets (that normally are the ones that agree with them politically), so you have to realize, this is how they have been taught.

This is what they believe because this is all they know.

This is their education about climatology.

Make of them what you will. I point and laugh.

I still don't understand how this storm isn't still called Alberto. It formed in almost the same coordinates as Alberto dissipated a couple days earlier and is part of the same system. I forget the name of the storm a few years back that was a Pacific storm that dissipated over Central America, reformed in the Caribbean Sea and was still called by its Pacific name. How is this any different?

Holy hell Fark, really!? Clinton TYREE not TYBEE.
As a side note, a google for "Clinton Tyree t shirt" is kind of awesome.
