MattyFridays: I couldn't even imagine watching this race in the stands. Being in a camper on the infield is the only way to do it.

My parents attempted it once, at the 600. And it was a year where there were tons of rain delays.

They finally just gave up and went home around 1 AM.

I used to do that at Daytona for the 500 for years...in Turn 4. Got some great pics along the way, including one of when Richard Petty did his roll along the catchfence.

Best way to see the race, IMHO.

Happened to me in 2009, my first race weekend. I did not know how everything worked, so being in the moving parking lot for 3hrs was messy.

Still had a blast though. I regret to say I have not been to a race since due to schedule conflicts but would love to go back somewhere.

Exactly. The only glass coke bottles I ever see are glass pony-sized bottles they have around Christmas or the Mexican Coke bottles. I have never see American coke in a 16-oz bottle readily available.

The flyover planes for Charlotte assemble just north of my house and fly directly over it very low. I can't believe how freakin huge that B-52 is. Only 12 miles from the track.
