Guess who doesn't have work today? Guess who gets to be among you today? Guess who gets to yell MOAR IDOL POWERZZZ!!! without having to rely on a craptacular cell phone or relay via Twitter? We're gonna be watching the race at my father-in-law's, but should any computer shenanagains occur, the plan is to load up the kids and race home and fire up the PRN stream. Thankfully Fox has coverage, so the commercials should be kept to a minimum.

I, too, am here. I feel responsible for the last 2 JJ wins, having not been around to rub the idol. I'll start early.

kteela: rub the idol

I may have a favorite new euphemism.

Rabbit is good, Rabbit is wise.

Oh come on Warchild, the Busch Brothers are fun! I'd rather see them do good than seeing that Lowes car winning. I refuse to shop there for that reason.

2012-05-27 02:50:36 PM
Also, massage the idol. Talk nice to the idol. When it gets closer to the start, give it a speech like you're Mickey talking to Rocky. Its in Charlotte, where that asshat keeps winning. HE MUST FAIL TONIGHT!

/side note: if anybody remembers the last time I spent an entire race in the thread, Johnson wrecked on lap 2 and JPM added the rare jet dryer stamp to his card of things to hit

bluorangefyre: Oh come on Warchild, the Busch Brothers are fun!

I used to think that, but they've both just become whiney biatches as of late. Especially Kurt. Dude, you've spent your career driving yourself away from any team with good equipment... where did you expect to be in 2012.

At this rate, he'll be running in ARCA in 2015. Mark my words.

2012-05-27 02:53:59 PM
Lets hope the 14 can charge to the front, rather than hang around 20th all night... which he's prone to do at times at this track. At least the one race I got to see live.

He just misses the 20 car, that's why.

I'm gonna say this right now: let's aim for a thousand posts tonight. Extra hundred miles, and I'm here. LET'S DO THIS!

Think about that for a minute.

JJ and Danica tie for first place. They congratulate each other in the circle, turn to the camera and while smiling, both give a thumbs up.

Go prime numbered cars

@RCR31JeffBurton
"@mattkenseth: Is it just me, or did the Indy cars get really ugly?" No u r both ugly

@mattkenseth
Thanks for the responses....well except for @RCR31JeffBurton of course. I just never seen an Indy car with wheels covered, seemed odd

Yup, I'm off today too! Gonna order in some wings and a sub later, but for now I'm just gonna lounge directly in front of the air conditioner.

I like how the Nascar website actually has an excuse for all the start and park cars when you read the final standings.

This is the eighth car race I'm watching this weekend. All have appeared to be entirely tangible so far.

Watching SPEED, it makes me wonder, who the fark thought Rutledge Wood is in any the type of person you'd want on something called Top Gear?

Talking about the Indy?? I'm no fan of IndyCar, but I just watched the race on tape, and it was a damn good race. Whatever they did to the engines or aero package on those things finally eliminated the parade. 31 lead changes or something... heck, that's more than NASCAR at Indy.

the parades only showed up in the last few years thanks to the cars. I remember the races in the 80s and most of the 90s were awesome.

After spending most of the last six weeks @work consolidating & moving a datacenter across the country, I get to sit at home & watch the race. Yay!

The fact that I had to break three toes on a foot a few hours ago to do it? Boo!

So I'm getting to sit & be loopy. I wonder if Humpy Wheeler will put targets on the jet dryers to try and generate buzz.

Go !48 and no more rain, either...

downstairs: TV?

I was trying to be nice ;)

Open wheel racing is still boring because you don't get the bumper to bumper, side by side, pack racking like you do in NASCAR. Even the pit stops in NASCAR are more exciting than those in open wheel.

I fully admit to never have really watched Indy... at least not all the way through... not even the 500 really. I was just bored today, so I watched it.

If this is how most of their races go this season, I may just start taping them.

I still don't like races where merely touching a car the slightest bit sends it into the wall. Personal preference. To each their own.

Sitting through an infomercial. Still hearing thunder. Lights dimming. Are we sure TKat just didn't put the idol to 'nuke the everloving shiat out of Johnson' mode?

Well they tried that in Vegas last year. Didn't turn out too well.

Harsh. At least I got a 30 Rock rerun before the show.

I was there in 93 for Emerson Fittipaldi's win. Nigel Mansell and Mario Andretti both had amazing cars that day, but Emo know how to restart on an oval, which cost Mansell the win. In retrospect, I'm glad Mansell lost.

Three wide down the front straight, two wide in the turns.

Ganassi finished 1-2 at Indy, therefore, JPM and McMurray will finish 1-2 tonight

2012-05-27 05:31:54 PM
Can someone explain to me WHY a double couldn't be raced today? Indy was over at 3:15.
