WhyteRaven74: Was just thinking Fittipaldi's first Indy 500 was the most recent of the blow out wins, he won by 2 laps. And third place was a couple more laps down.

Until 198, it was Emmo and Little Al, then Raul Boesel -6, then Mario, Foyt, and Brayton -7.

Marco Andretti just said they forgot the ketchup in his drive-thru order. Irate, coming around again.

Not now. The pit crew is busy. They're having ice cream.

LMAO. Well played, well played.

Hey gang. Had to run some errands, but I'm finally ready for the racing coma. Typical Indy so far?

DanZero: Tsrwedge: DanZero: I don't know what's worse, the Honda Crazy Train ad or the WATCH OUT FOR MY ROOOOOOTS kid for AT&T. Can't wait to see *that* one later.

You know what we haven't seen for a while? Flash mob.

That's how I got my start on these threads!

WE ARE!

Indeed! I'm fairly certain I cursed vehemently whenever you mentioned that ad since it always seemed to come on right after you mentioned it.

/Though to be fair, it also aired fairly soon after I breathed.

I'm wondering, if we ask really nicely, can they squeeze a few more commercials into this wonderful broadcast?

The entire race can be found on popular video websites. So can 1992.

Yep that was it. And I remember everyone thinking Al was gonna charge Fittipaldi when he came around but instead gave him two thumbs up. Just imagine if they both would've gone out, the lap count would've gone from 198, to 192.

With Joseph's hot car sitting in the grass there for so long, it looks like they'll have to plant a New Garden in that spot.

FiendishFellow05: WhyteRaven74: Marco's car is vibrating something fierce.

FiendishFellow05: Al Unser III

I remember him. You'd think with as many second generation Unsers as there are, there'd be at least one third generation Unser who could make it to the Indy 500.

I think the racing bug petered out with the third generation. Al III was apparently the only third-generation Unser with any significant career.

I went to the Unser Museum last time I was in Albuquerque and the only mention of the current generation was at Pike's Peak.

it is werird hearing/seeing rick de bruhl do this race as for like, 20 years here in phoenix, his shiatck on the evenging news is those "hidden camera" / "channel 3 on your side" things where some old biddy got ripped off by a automotive repair and rick debruhl and his folks go to confont the manager who does the "no cameras, no camera" thing.

and then he's like, "they referred all inquires to the corporate office, who did not respond to our inquiries".

and now he's doing indy lol.

Lead lap cars pit first, so they're the cars that are down a lap or more.

Different strategies, cars not on the lead lap(or is that just NASCAR?). Pitting right now is gambling on having enough fuel to run to the end.

Commercials pay the bills. As long as I don't have to pay to watch the race I'm OK with it.

What I'm not OK with is when I pay for the privilege of watching commercials, like at the movies. I despise that.

How much did they charge Marco for the last pitstop? Maybe that's why he's pissed.

4.5 seconds of labor should not be $85!!

Think of the 3 races today.

Juan Pablo Montoya is most famous in Indycar for winning the Indianapolis 500.

Juan Pablo Montoya is most famous in F1 for winning the Grand Prix of Monaco.

Juan Pablo Montoya is most famous in NASCAR for crashing into a jet dryer.

Which is the "hard" form of racing, again? ;)
