I'm not sure that's a 3, I think his foot was on the line.

2012-05-26 10:27:53 PM
Sixers are playing to lose. They get close then make mental mistakes and Boston is hitting key shots.

2012-05-26 10:28:10 PM
Another nail in the coffin. Pretty soon it's going to be slap and chop time.

2012-05-26 10:28:15 PM
What! Rondo with a big 3. Didn't see that coming.

2012-05-26 10:28:17 PM
76-68 Boston, 2:47 4th

2012-05-26 10:28:17 PM
Wait, Rondo can't shoot, WTF is this?

2012-05-26 10:28:33 PM
Rondo's been hustling the table the entire night.

What a long con.

2012-05-26 10:30:28 PM

robsul82: I'd love to see a Sixers upset, but Boston at least has SOME shot at beating Miami. Hmm.

C'mon be real, no they don't

2012-05-26 10:30:29 PM
Rondo jumper ruled a two, foot on the line.

2012-05-26 10:30:37 PM

Doogled: Well then, that's not good for Boston.

Yet somehow the Sixers can't capitalize on this.

2012-05-26 10:31:00 PM
Told you so.

2012-05-26 10:31:08 PM

I know what you're saying, but their chances have to be at least higher than the zero chance Philly has.

2012-05-26 10:31:35 PM
Game over.

2012-05-26 10:31:43 PM
Now THAT is a genuine Rondo threeball.

Indeed.

I know it's bad form but

oMaJoJ: Wait, Rondo can't shoot, WTF is this?

Sure it was.

76ers deserve to lose this.

2012-05-26 10:35:30 PM
Well, that's that. Good luck, Boston, we're all counting on you.

2012-05-26 10:36:29 PM
What year did Congress pass the law that NBA fans must chant "M-V-P!" if a player has a good game?
@SportsPickle

Amen to that.

robsul82: Well, that's that. Good luck, Boston, we're all counting on you.

Fark you. I'll never root for Boston over anybody but the lakers or the spurs.

I just don't like thinking about Boston vs. Miami and the uncomfortable mental state that places my interest in. Thank God for hockey.

I think they slipped it into a defense bill back in '07

So Miami in 5?

2012-05-26 10:46:48 PM
Celtics are into the conference finals and the Lakers are on vacay. Thank god for scotch!

2012-05-26 11:03:13 PM
Big win with a crap offense but a great d. Go Cs. Also I'd like to mention that the Knicks suck.

2012-05-26 11:19:53 PM
Go Spurs....god help me.

Popovich and Duncan are easily the easiest team to root for left.

2012-05-26 11:36:23 PM
GO GREEN!

2012-05-26 11:50:48 PM
Heat .vs somebody in the Finals. Book it done.

Lakers fan?

2012-05-27 12:17:07 AM
Phew...when Pierce went out I thought they were done. Without Bradley to guard Dwade though, I don't like their chances against Miami at all...

2012-05-27 01:04:39 AM
Pierce fouls out, Rondo takes over. Coincidence? (Watched on DVR) I know they have beef. The best kind.
Some sort of chills are coming over my body watching the end of this game.
During the last minute when Philadelphia succumbed and didn't foul, I felt like the crowd was not only cheering for the Celtics, but also cheering for the Sixers in appreciating their effort during this series.

Scared the hell out of me...as much as sports can, anyway.

2012-05-27 01:08:13 AM
And on a related note...everybody was calling for a Rondo triple-double. This is why I hate stats. When he had nine rebounds I was thinking, even if he doesn't get it, this game is pretty much a triple-double.

So he gets the triple-double and the post-game announcers talk about how it's a soft t-d.

Dumb.

2012-05-27 01:13:26 AM
Also, the Celtics have absolutely no system right now. Their offense relies on luck. Their defense is OK, but missing some key players.

Based on tonight's game, I can't see them doing any more damage. Hopefully they'll win at least two games so I can enjoy this season for another week. When the C's are done I'll have to wait for the first NFL game.

Fewer and fewer posts in these threads every game. Maybe we'll stop with the basketball threads and it can die like all pointless sports should.

Although, it is a bit sad to see wrestling threads with 2000+ posts. What the fark is there to talk about? Fake storylines? Over the top retardedness? I thought that was reserved for the politics site.

ActionJoe: Fake storylines?

Says the guy that follows the NBA?

Fewer and fewer posts? Wow dude, if you're going to have some weird vendetta against the NBA at least know what you're saying. This matchup (Philly/Boston) has always got around this many posts. Also, why does it matter if there's a basketball thread. Even if all the threads got around 90 posts (I bet the conf finals and finals get a whole lot more than that), isn't that better than the abundance of threads on this site that have less posts? What is this really about?

Robsul is rooting for Boston? The world just doesn't make sense to me anymore.

2012-05-27 10:21:39 AM
Fun fact: If the Heat can beat the Celtics in 5 or fewer and lose the Finals again, they will continue to have lost more playoff games against the Western Conference than against the Eastern Conference in the post-"Decision" era.

/Sorry I wasn't here to add my typical 80 comments to the thread, but I didn't even bother watching until the last half of the 4th quarter
//now we're to the round where every team at least sort of has a chance at a title

I agree with the latter Joe. We're talking about one game, a game most people thought wouldn't happen. It was on a Saturday during Memorial Day weekend...which is a big deal in the country this game took place.

Appreciate this, but got it too late and greened the only one that was submitted before the game started. However, Celtics/Heat game is tonight, and nobody has submitted a thread for that game yet, ifyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkyoudo
