KFC -- so good, you'll get wood.

They're killing the ramin trees, too! Soon we won't be able to get our delicious Maruchan! CAN NO ONE STOP THIS MADNESS!

Vanilla waffers are made of wood too. Its cheaper for these companies to use wood than the real edible products that were originally used.

If it's inedible, how do we eat it?

Just put it in your mouth. You can eat mercury and sulfur, too. I just don't advise it. There be unintended consequences.

Greenpeace has too much money if it can afford forensic tests on Chinese chicken buckets.

I liked the McDonald's 'I'm lovin it!' anti-KFC ad that I saw next to the article. I'm not alone, right? Cause I don't want to think about what it means if the ad companies are sending me, personally, McDonald's ads.

Do you really want to pay money and support a good guitarist that supports the destruction of the rain forest?

I am really sorry for the Indonesian rain forest but I really like my KFC.

You mean KFC isn't forever? Doesn't this mean the end of Western society?

Subby is a moron - the wood fiber was food in the BOX that the chicken is sold in AND only is certain parts of the world.

2012-05-26 08:43:42 PM
Oh, I thought it was going to be about them putting sawdust in their food.

You know, like how Taco Bell uses "oat product" which turns out to be ground up and refined oat husks and straw.

If only there was some commonly available fully recycled cardboard that could be had at around the same price as their exotic rainforest cardboard.

How many people actually read the article? It's not in the food, it's in the buckets.

This is probably the usual Chinese stunt of substituting cheaper stuff whenever they think they can get away with it. I doubt Kfarknew what was up.

2012-05-26 08:47:07 PM
KFC probably grew the trees in vats at one time, but you party-pooping tree-huggers thought this was bad.

There really isn't much you can do after one of those is just lay there, feel bad for yourself, and try to wash it all down with your corn soda.

I think I can count the ones who read the article on one hand so far.

And you're probably right about KFC never knowing what was going on. I can't see them thinking of checking the composition of their buckets.

Heh, I'm eating Kentucky fried chicken while reading this...

how will our brainwashed students survive when they can't get ramen anymore?

Sumatran tigers prey upon the Malayan tapir, which an endangered species. Therefore it is good to drive Sumatran tigers into extinction. Right?

I agree that KFC probably didn't know, but I also agree with the article when it says they have the clout to make it stop. They get a pass up to now, but the onus is on KFC at this point to make sure it doesn't continue that way in the future.

You can't use recycled cardboard for food contact surfaces because there is no way to guarantee that that everything in the cardboard stream was food grade.

But but but cereal boxes...

Cereal boxes aren't in direct contact with the food.
