That was fun to watch.

/I proposed at the end of the counter at a Godfather's Pizza
//we both worked there at the time

nvmac: That was fun to watch.

Indeed it was. Although for my money this guy still has the top prize as far as marriage proposals are concerned Link

Seems a bit coercive and forced.

It insists upon itself.

She should have said no and ruined his life forever. That would have been epic

No, then everyone in this thread would be crying fake.

I guess the bride-to-be seemed nice enough, but I want to hit the chick in the red dress.

Proof that being tall, funny, and imaginative will get you a cute girl despite being relatively unattractive.

Vid failed to load for me,so I'll just assume she said yes.

2012-05-26 02:13:27 AM
Also, this is awesome.

2012-05-26 02:15:56 AM
I like the idea, but I would be weirded out if that happened to me.

My two friends got married after being together for about 5 years saying, "Oh you got some great health insurance and I've got this baby coming, you wanna get married?" "Yeah" and boom, done.

Sidenote, what is the male equivalent of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl?

2012-05-26 02:29:14 AM
That totally lifted my mood. Awesome.

2012-05-26 02:38:22 AM

From the comments on the video source page, it appears they're both theater folk which is completely unsurprising.

Vimeo videos never play for me when embedded, but always work fine on the vimeo site itself, which can be reached by clicking the logo in the bottom right.

A good start to the day - first I watched Joe Biden's speech and now this. Thanks, Fark.

That's really beautiful. That's a really fortunate couple, to have friends and family like that. That's worth more than billions of dollars.

I still disagree with public marriage proposals, though. The uhh.. "proposee" shouldn't feel pressured by having an audience.

2012-05-26 09:58:12 AM
I was prepared to be basement dweller cynical, but that was an awesome proposal.

Smeggy Smurf: She should have said no and ruined his life forever. That would have been epic

Even if she were just kidding, I would find it hilarious if one of these super-hyped proposals ended with the girl saying "Hm, nah, that's ok."

2012-05-26 11:06:28 AM
I think having a rehearsed proposal with an audience only works if the couple has reeeally talked about getting married, to the point where they are already making plans together, and the girl knows the guy (or vice versa) is rehearsing a special proposal, albeit still a surprise on how it will be executed.

Otherwise, applying that much pressure to a yes/no answer with lifelong implications is just cruel.

Which is why I wrote it seems a bit coercive and forced.

Might be nice to have a website archive of epic wedding proposals that failed....

Yep, he's a pimp.
The chick in the red dress...want!

Seconded. I would spend much more time and have much more fun than watching the successful ones.

The girl in the red dress (front and center) was kind of an attention whore, but otherwise that was awesome.

I was on board til the stache,

Maybe I'm missing something but what was the point of the headphones? How did everyone else hear the song to coordinate? Maybe to cover the sound of stage direction on the sidelines? That had to take some major work to pull off.

Best of luck to them. Obviously there won't be many people who know those two who are the "he's just not right for you" naysayers.

2012-05-26 03:54:51 PM
Fake. Honda commercial. Why would they advertise the fact that it was a Honda CRV? Also, who only knows one gay couple? You either know zero or tons a buttload.

2012-05-26 04:34:12 PM
At least he did not advertise the name of the Jeweler and only had dancing Jews!

desertmouse: The girl in the red dress (front and center) was kind of an attention whore, but otherwise that was awesome.

I don't think she's an attention whore, I think she was the friend who served as choreographer, so she was up front so everyone else could watch her for queues.

/made my day

2012-05-26 05:40:30 PM
I'm not showing this to my fiance.

2012-05-26 06:24:36 PM
That commercial proposal lasted longer than most marriages.

2012-05-26 06:33:28 PM
This video is why I love Fark. Can't understand the haters this was just inspirational human love, cmon man.

I can't decide which is my favorite part: The dancing Jews (best running gag ever) or the gay couple (awesome quick shot).

One day I hope to see a non-scripted and impromptu dance and musical number in the street.
