subby: Worst traffic in America? Chicago is 2nd to none.....except for pizza

2nd to none except the other 9 that come ahead of #10

Focusing too hard on the troll part of the headline

Inversely my Honolulu commute is a 15 minute motorcycle ride.

I know "Chicago" is a bad word ever since we have a blackliberalforeignmarxist president from there... but you're trying too hard, subby.

5) Bridgeport, CT - 42 hours
4) New York - 57 hours

The Bridgeport traffic is pretty much just a result of the New York traffic. May as well just add those two together.

2012-05-25 09:18:18 PM
If you're stuck in traffic, you are traffic. You're part of the problem.

/Yes I know there is only one house on the planet you can afford and only one company on Earth that will hire you. Sucks to be you.

Chicago style is not pizza. It's closer to a casserole than anything.
/UNO'S sucks

isn't chicago the town that takes a salad and throws it on a bun with a tube shape piece of meat and calls it a hot dog.

Bridgeport and maybe Austin are the two places on that list where you need to own a car.

I'm not sure about Austin. I've gotten mixed signals for it.
In about 2 years I will be moving.

The beautiful thing is, I can move anywhere.

I would like to move someplace where I don't need to own a car to get around in, but isn't extremely expensive like New York City.
Any Austin Farkers able to comment on their public transportation and living in Austin?

Any shout outs for other good cities?

Srsly. If I wanted that much dough with my pizza I'd buy a farking loaf of bread.

That and gas is a good $1.50 or so more expensive than where I'm at now. (I visited this past weekend after flying into Midway and jeez that was ridiculous!)

Blasphemy!!!
You are probably referring to Sonic's version of the Chicago dog.
You like ketchup on your tofu hotdog don't you?

As opposed to NYC which drips faux chili and mustard on a kid sized baloney sausage and calls it a hot dog.

I can agree with this. I've been stuck in gridlock in Chicago at 2 am on a week night. Plus, I'm from MN. The joke here is there's 2 seasons. Winter and Road work.

Not much. You need to own a car in Austin. You could get by with a bike in some areas but really it's so farking hot in the summer that you'll be a sweaty mess if you ride for more than ten minutes.

With that being said it's a great city. Affordable, unique, and the people are some of the nicest folk you'll meet anywhere in the US.

How does Honolulu have traffic? How can you have less space to drive, but still have more traffic? Can't you bike accross the island in an hour?

This looks like a list of cities where if you make less than $150,000 and want to live in a detached single-family home, there is nothing available that is less than an hour commute from your job.

Of course when I lived in San Francisco, I was in a 3-flat, didn't drive, and didn't give a fark about what the traffic was like on the Bay Bridge. Commute time was maybe 30 minutes. Could have been better, if so many transportation dollars weren't wasted on the insatiable demands of suburban commuters.

2012-05-25 09:33:24 PM
best "city" to not own a car is the bay area. BART is the best thing, evar!

Moved from Chicago to DC a few months back. Never had a problem with Chicago traffic, but DC traffic is just awful.

Chicago pizza? I'd rather pour a can of tomato sauce on a loaf of bread than eat that shiat. No wonder everyone runs away.

Baltimore was pretty good to me while I was there. I know... Baltimore... but it's secretly a really nice town, full of really nice people. I lived in the area near the monument, and the light rail went pretty much everywhere I wanted to go. And I'll second vicejay's 'New Orleans' love.

I had Chicago pizza. Wasn't that bad. (Except if you compare it to New York's)

Is this the thread where all the NY a-holes claim food superiority? Pizza, hot dogs, clam chowder, cheesecake, the list goes on. Get over yourselves, already, there's more than one good variety of everything.

Ideally, take the bus if you can. Avoid I-35 from 7AM to 8PM. Take MoPac and Hwy 183 to get around the city.

really?!?! Atlanta didn't make the top 10? 7 lanes and all of them backed up.... I guess if your just looking at hours wasted... If you looked at risk of being rear ended or side swiped I bet would be damn near top 5.
