Smiths: Okay once new york left the ice i felt excited again.
i'm such a pussy for seeing teams lose.

Well, I feel safe saying that the historical trend of high playoff seeds winning the cup will be broken this year.

Initial thoughts- rooting HARD for the Devils for obvious reasons. But the Kings are ridiculously good. Kings in 6 but they will lose a road game.

Oh, and go Kings in the finals. Purely to troll the Leaf fans.

Any fellow NYR fans want to organize a buyout of Gaborik's contract?

Woopdeedoo, great regular season followed by invisibility as soon as it matters. Sick of it.

Waiting for the train. I can neither hear nor speak anything anymore. great game. Wish the flyers were involved, but happy to see the rangers go down.

BROAD STREET FOR BRODEUR

So this means the cup winner will be the lowest-seeded ever, right? Surpassing the '95 Devils? At least, that's according to some quick googling.

2012-05-25 11:02:08 PM
So when is that last time we had a 6 and 8 seed in the finals? Is this the lowest combined seeding of any finals match up?

Said it a couple weeks ago, say it again - it's beginning to look a lot like '03. :) '12 just has that '03 feel to it.

I knew the rangers were going down when a guy got on my train today wearing a rangers jersey and carrying golf clubs. He was mercylessly mocked the entire ride.

darwinoid: desertgeek: darwinoid: Pay attention Coyotes. That's how you do the handshakes.

If a beloved teammate got taken off 12 seconds before that and no penalty was called, you can't be expected to be peaceful yet. Theyre not robots. Get over yourself.

Riiiiiiight. Because you'd have made the call easily. Assuming a call would have been correct.

It's the one moment in hockey where you are supposed to put it all behind you. The Coyotes failed to do so and it just indicates their overall lack of composure. Which was evident all season.

And let's not even get into the stupid stuff Doan and co said in interviews.

There's a reason the NHL are looking into them. (Though of course *that* story received no mention in the Arizona Republic).

Are you f*cking serious? You really think any human being could put something like that behind them just like that? Really? Give me a f*cking break. Even ontario wouldn't say something that f*cking stupid.

Anyway, if you had actually done some research, you'd know that Brown wanted to explain himself in the line but that wasn't the time or the place to do it and Doan was telling him that. So get off your high horse. Their still f*cking human at the end of the day.

And for folks who biatch about officiating, yea, I'll agree with you it has been....odd....this post season. Stuff that shouldn't be called has been and vice versa. But this was a very cleanly officiated game.

Hockey is played between chaos and control .. It's very difficult to keep your emotions in check
I thought Doan handled himself well considering he watched his teammate get hit and leave the game and then seconds later the kings scored the winner to knock them out of the playoffs.

I can relate very well to that anger

Gretzky high sticks Gilmour, no call, Gretzky scores game winner and takes it to game 7

Daniel Alfredsson boards Darcy Tucker from behind and scores the game winning goal to force the series to another game

I know what it's like, I've played hockey where we lost the game after the other team hit one of our players illegally but didn't get penalized for

The only thing you can do is remember who that player is and next time you play let him feel your pain. that's what our coach said to do, I was done playing hockey after that year because it was too much money but they got him, he lost a few teeth

... Your team has won 3 cups since then, in seasons where the Rangers didn't even make the playoffs.

Devils fans are the most classless, hockey ignorant schmucks in this sport. The only consolation will be watching the Kings buzzsaw your old turd of a goal keeper (who let up two or three goals every single meeting).

Three Cups, but you don't think every Devils fan doesn't have nightmares of "MATTEAU! MATTEAU! MATTEAU!"? Jesus, the last three days were all about reliving Messier's guarantee! Three Cups since 1994 and a chance for a fourth this year, but they still play second fiddle in the media to the Rangers.

Thank you. It is pretty funny that I didn't have time to expound on the myriad of character flaws and faults, the crushing idiocy, the smug feeling of arrogance exuded in stinking clouds by practically every Red Wings fan I've ever met. I'd never encountered that particular mix of unjustifiable high-handedness, paranoia, and snot-dribbling cries to authority when something even looked like it wasn't going their way anywhere else, until I had to spend an extended period of time in the company of 3-year olds.

But I digress. fark the Wings...fark their coaches...definitely fark the fans...their scouting staff's cool...and fark Detroit in general. I'm out.
