Esparza was found through his IP address, which was linked to his work laptop, Ogorchock said. Esparza worked for Safeguard, a locally-owned home-security company.

A search warrant of Esparza's Gilbert home found evidence on his work and home laptops.

Ogorchock said Esparza initially blamed his son, who is now 14, but then gave a full confession during a two-hour-long recorded interview .

This guy is all sorts of smart and good sense. And it's good to see those qualities have already been passed off on the kid.

Who wants to bet the kid lost the farking thing in the first place?

What kind of father blames his own son for his failings?

That's some good parenting there, Lou.

This is why you publicly accuse the guy of molesting your kid - his career would be ruined instantly and regardless of you later being found to have lied your ass off.

That happened to me once, coupled with my highly unusual name it was a lot of fun to explain to people. The person even used a woman with the same color hair so any HR person would just assume it was the same person.

Website was NOT helpful in taking it down and basically refused to do anything.

Thanks windows live!

C. It's the only option of the 3 that will result in any action being taken

Of course that "action" is a big wild card here

Some excellent work there by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Clearly they are one of the more efficient and well managed police departments in the US.

You guys are probably onto something. The kid probably lost the iPod, said the assistant principal took it away, because as the father demonstrated, one should not take responsibility for one's actions but should immediately blame it on someone else.

I am beginning to think I am the only parent who would tell their child "OH WELL" if they took an ipod to school and lost it. It must REALLY suck to be a teacher nowadays.

I wouldn't doubt that the teacher did take it and either lost it or decided to keep it for himself, and now is lying to cover his tracks. When I was in school teachers would do this from time to time.

When my daughter was in college, she got on the wrong side of the dean in charge of on campus housing, who proceded to make things miserable for her on a regular basis. When she left, she set up a NAMBLA membership for him using his school address and also signed him up for subscriptions to several gay porn mags, also at his school address.

He was gone the next year, but she's not sure if her actions did it.

That's where I was going.

"Where did you learn to lie and blame it on someone else?" "I learned it from watching YOU!"

Question is why did the parent send a kid to ELEMENTARY school with an expensive iPod? Of course the kid probably lost it and made up some BS story and the dad is just a psycho

You know he had to pull mad strings to get the investigation even started. Getting cops to go out of their way and investigate a computer-based crime is like pulling teeth.

Key learning from another story: this guys mistake was not getting the Vice Principle sent to jail for 5 years, and winning 1.5 million in a lawsuit against the school. Apparently, if you do that, there's no crime or repercussions. If you fake a profile on the internet, jail for you.

At least the father tried to throw his son under the bus when he got caught.

What a piece of shiat.

The thing that really sucks is the asst principal was interviewing for a principal's job somewhere else, and this douchebags actions likely cost him that job. Thankfully his current district had an opening for principal and decided to fill it using this guy. If I was the asst principal I'd sue the bastard for costing me income/job.

I thought that was pretty clever. But then again, college administrators rank only slightly above investment bankers in the "biggest douches in the universe" category, and this one sounds like a stereotype.
