Funny thing is Sochi has a sub-tropical climate. It does have good skiing in the nearby mountains but this might be the first winter olympics where shorts are more common than tukes in the Olympic village.

These do not seem like unreasonable requests. They're not asking for reparation payments, or for somebody to be put on trial, or whatever. They're just asking to be allowed back in the country and for the Russians to own up to what they did and stop messing with them now.

As far as the Olympics, who cares? If they hadn't come to Sochi, people would never have heard about your cause. Now you have an international platform to protest and raise awareness. By their logic, the '96 games should never have been in Atlanta, because once upon a time, the dispossessed Confederates got their asses kicked.

More to the point, it means trying to kill 'em all (or wipe out the culture some other way, like taking away the kids and adopting them out to good genocidal families). It's a bloody hard job to finish, most attempts end in failure even if they cheat and have a plague kill 90% of the target population beforehand.
