This is one of the rare fark stories about which I'm incapable of saying anything snarky. The situation must just completely suck for the kid and his family. Watching this little person that you love more than anything compulsively eat things that will eventually kill him, and be unable to stop it or really communicate with him...f'ing horrible.

It usually it because of a nutrition deficiency and their body needs to make up for by eating things that have it. IE need minerals so they eat dirt. However in this case I have no idea what's causing it.

I've heard of people having nutriant deficiencies that caused them to have weird cravings. A girl I knew became iron deficient and had cravings to eat dirt.
