Wow. It's almost as if they lied to their supporters and bullshiatted their way into office.

Why didn't we warn them of this? Did no one see this comming? ::snicker::

Not to worry. I'm sure some more tax cuts for the stupid rich will help things.

Well, color me surprised.

$600,000??!?!?!?!

That's almost real money!

If the banks want to be foolish and try to buy off the Tea Party patriots who took back our government let them try. They are just throwing their money away cos the Tea Party won't give them more bailout.

Is 600K between them a fair rate for a politician? It seems kind of cheap to purchase that many for 600K but maybe it's like a rookie contract in sports. Or maybe there are incentives? Maybe if they perform well after their rookie season they become eligible for bigger payouts? 600K for a pack of fresh politicians seems cheap. Hell, if I could arrange a consortium to go in with me on the 600K I'd buy a few politicians of my own and make a profit selling them as torture sex slaves in some far flung, depraved place.

They'll do what they're told, when they are told, once they are bought off.

Just like they were "told" to vote for more debt last year? How did that work out?

$600k is chump change compared to what they are giving Obama and Romney. Can we compare this list to other members that are pre 2010? I'm sure these members will look like saints compared to the incumbents. Kos' rage against the freshmen GOP is laughable when you compare it to the incumbents... but its Kos, so this is to be expected.

2012-05-24 10:33:15 AM
Despite the class of 2010's big tea party reputation, Republicans elected to the House that year were actually less likely than other Republicans to join the Tea Party Caucus; moreover, according to a Politico analysis, in 100 key votes in 2011, the class of 2010 Tea Party Caucus members voted against the Republican party's position just 1.25 percentage points more frequently than did their non-tea party freshmen colleagues.

All of which just goes to show what we've long known about tea partiers in general: They're just conservative Republicans, rebranded.

Well, knock me over with a feather.

2012-05-24 10:33:17 AM
Tea Partiers complaining about those doing nothing on welfare biatching all day, while taking free money from banks while doing nothing and biatching all day.

And the cycle is complete.

No, but its funny how Kos can slam these guys, but fail to mention Obama and/or Romney. So if you are mad at the freshmen GOP for 'selling out', you must be raging about Obama/Romney campaigns being backed in the millions right?

Tea Party politicians campaign on being completely different from Republican and Democratic incumbents, get caught behaving exactly like them, tea partiers on Fark excuse them by pointing out they're behaving exactly like Republican and Democratic incumbents.

Nice.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm really not. But you sound like Breitbart complaining that the MSM didn't mention the apple in their article about oranges. Like "why is this article not talking about what I want it to talk about?"

Exactly. The reason he flipped over the money changers tables is because they were obeying the Volker rule instead of engaging in proprietary trading. Supply Side Jesus does not believe in low profit ventures.

These days they are the only ones talking about reducing the size, scope and involvement in our lives of the Federal Government. Nobody else is and that includes many old-guard Republicans who have been in Washington forever and are firmly in the pocket of K Street.

the tea party's entire raison d'etre is that they 'can't be bought.' this is why it is hypocritical for them to take wall st. money and not for romney/obama.

it's the same reason that a republican caught in a gay affair is hypocritical while a democrat is not. see?

now, if a democrat were caught using spotted owls for fuel, then, yes, that would be hypocritical.

Well since they're an astroturfing operation for a handful of billionaires to begin with, I think the hypocritical thing is that they try to brand themselves as "can't be bought".

Yes, because creating more rules regarding women's access to reproductive health care is surely getting government out of their lives. Much like attempts to ban gay marriage also help to create the jobs they stated as their number one priority.

You're either a fool or a troll.

Going into this election cycle, Barack Obama had raised more money from Wall Street than any President in history. Link He has also raised more money from Wall Street than all of the GOP presidential contenders combined in this election cycle. Link

Well, unless I am missing the point of the article, it is to imply that the politicians are bought and paid for by big business. I think we can all agree that is not a good thing regardless of the political party getting bought.

Here is the point. For "here", you can either use my present location or the general contiguous United States. Your location, as you can probably divine, is somewhere west of Nepal.

The point is these people "campaigned" on being "grass roots" and not in the pockets of big business, thus portraying the illusion that the interests of the commin man were in their sights. Neither Obama nor Romney ever let such fly forth from their lips.
