I couldn't get the article to load on my phone. Are they going to do the same thing with Fringe they did Firefly where they mix science explanations in with the show? Fringe would be an awesome show for that. I've wasted a lot of time on their website reading about fringe science.

What a disappointment SyFy couldn't get it, so I could see the same lame promos for their other shows at least six times during the hour the show would be on.

Fringe is not science. why even bother with channel names anymore. just call em 'bob' and 'fred' and 'ed' like on the radio when no one gives a fk anymore

Me too. We watched Fringe for the first season and gave it a meh and moved on. Now all I hear is how it really got good in Season 2. The article does say that it is a non-exclusive deal which will allow them to sign an agreement with a streaming provider. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, it's just silly. It's actually sci-fi, but of course SyFy isn't sci-fi, so there's no point there. They may as well name the channels like Stefon names clubs on SNL. "We're proud to present our new channel Meeeeeeep! It has midget clown wrestling, a cat with five legs, Hitler's dildo..."

Not to threadjack or anything, but I just can't get tired of Stefon. Some bits are better than others, but there's always at least one club that's fall-over hilarious. I wonder if they don't tell him what the material is beforehand, and make him read it off the prompter, in order to get him laugh every time.

We actually have a TV channel in the UK called Dave. It's "repeated an hour later" channel has an even better name, Dave Ja Vu.

They practice it one way and then change the cue cards before he goes out. That way he's prepared for some of it but cracks up on others. I guess it's their way of escalating the challenge for Hader.

Wtf? Wasn't the science channel supposed to be the channel that actually showed interesting science stuff after discovery went to shiat with reality tv?

So an entire hour a week NOT devoted to How It's Made? There will be panic in the streets.

Seems the Science Channel is going the way of TLC and History. They know what gets higher ratings.

TLC - now the Midgets, Freaks, and Multiples channel.
History (don't say History channel!) - now the Aliens (I'm not saying it's aliens) Bigfoot, and Mythical Creature channel.

I thought that was awesome before I GIS it and found out you're not lying.

Awesome!

/I would be okay with an "Ed" , "Edd" and "Eddy" network
//it would be epidemical

Works for me. After all, the show is based around "fringe science", and while the methodology is extreme and the theories are often outlandish, it still qualifies as science.

Besides, it's a frakking good television show in general, so I'm perfectly fine with this development.

I liked the first three seasons but season four was a huge mess that never really took advantage of the setup of having two Fringe divisions cooperating to fix the damage in the two universes. A few episodes touched on it, but it could have been so much more. Letters of Transit provides an interesting set up for season 5, but I hope they manage to follow through on the premise set up in that episode.

Don't forget, the history channel is the station that is going to spend 3 nights (6 hours) on a Hatfiled-McCoys miniseries based almost entirely on a fictional, overblown fued that even the families have said is ridiculous.

Well, if that's the case, I'm willing to take one for the team and live with the horror she will become. I'm selfless like that.

Whatever you do, DO NOT turn on the History Channel.
