Good video. Had my 4 year old watch it to show her why cleaning products and cabinets are for "grownups only."

Would have been nice if they explained what it was that ignited the spray paint.

Why does that idiot woman keep her cleaning supplies where she knows her dog (who she knows likes to get into them) can get into them?

ShawnDoc: Would have been nice if they explained what it was that ignited the spray paint.

The spray paint was black, which of course is condensed soot, and that set off the garbage disposal pilot light.

The "Yogi Explosion Explained" video doesn't really explain anything, does it?

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly ignited the accelerant from the spray paint.

Probably the compressor on the refrigerator kicked on. Spark + fumes = boom.

Allow an expert to step in here: as the pressurized fluorinated hydrocarbons are released from the paint can, they undergo entropic destabilization which results in a thermochemically unstable mixture with the oxygen in the kitchen, resulting in a rapid exothermic reaction.

I've never seen such a stupid Corgi. They're incredibly intelligent, and very often you don't have to tell them twice not to do something. They realize very quickly when they did something wrong. What I'm saying is the Corgi in that video appeared to have zero behavioral training, although when she was dragging it away to the restroom it had a super cute butt.

The paint can exploded right next to the oven, when the fumes reached the pilot light, BOOM

What really make me think she isn't a good owner isn't that she allowed this to happen, but that she didn't have a FREAKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER in her kitchen.

Our corgi likes attacking hair dryers, vacuums and paper shredders, but only when they're on. As you're getting the vacuum out, she'll run over and stand there patiently waiting to attack it once you turn it on.

I'd say "fake", but faking something implies that at least some effort went into makeing it believable.

Ah excuse me, but if you were paying attention you can clearly hear a water hammer striking a Glad plug in. I hope I don't have to explain what happens next.

Korgi: "Oh, so if I just attack the cleaning stuff, she'll play with me some more. Well that's easy enough to remember."

First of all, Who keeps spray paint under the sink?

Second of all, IT'S FAKE

2012-05-23 10:07:05 PM
Horribly, horribly fake. The light from the explosion doesn't even cast light properly, it's just a orange color overlay.

Plus if the corgi punctured a spraypaint can, there'd be a headless dog in that shot.

/Used to shoot them and hairspray cans with BB guns. Boom!

A former roommate of mine had a Corgi. It was left at home every day and occasionally decided that it wanted out of the house. After it broke through the same window twice (cutting itself up quite a bit in the process) my roommate covered the window in a piece of gypsum board. The next day the Corgi started chewing through the board. It ate a pound or two of the material, which set in its digestive tract, killing it.

That can of spray paint behaved just like every can of spray paint I've ever shot with a pellet gun. They don't explode. They just spray shiat everywhere and spin around. Just like in the video.

Because nothing actually happened in that kitchen while the dog was being filmed and the dog isn't trained as an actor any more than those people.

I got the impression that there was no consistent master-dog relationship. The dog clearly understood commands and obeyed sometimes but then decided to just do whatever it wanted, the fact she would cower and was submissive to the dog at points was obvious and partly why it acts like that. The owner needs to take a stand and show the dog who is #1.

A couple years ago I was in my garage, knocked a can of spray paint off a shelf and hit the edge of something putting a small hole in the side, nearly the same reaction just spray everywhere some 15ft up to away. No fire or explosion though but no source of ignition.

Yep, and they use hydrocarbons as propellant. So, BOOM. Though I'm not sure he'd be standing if he was the close to a legit explosion.
