The "insane fringe" of the GOP like Secretaries of State, the most popular radio talk show hosts in the country, state GOP leaders, assorted Congresspeople, and several pundits from the highest-rated conservative news channel on television?

That "insane fringe"?

2012-05-23 10:18:56 AM
Clearly the GOP need to learn the lesson that everyone else learns at a very young age - when your fringe gets so long you can't see properly any more, it's time to cut the farking thing off.

2012-05-23 10:22:56 AM
a large portion of the country is unable to accept the fact that a black man is president of the united states. it's really that simple.

2012-05-23 10:23:30 AM
I think the DNC should be appearing on super-liberal blogs and shows to express their fear and concern that the Republicans might make this issue the focus of their 2012 campaign.

"Oh, noes! Anything but that! Pleeeeease, Mr. Republicans, please don't talk about the birth certificate!"

This. A partisan hack can be disgusted by the fact that there is a Democratic President. A racist, may actually be unable to accept that a black man is a legitimately the President.

I wonder what the conspiracy theories would be like if the president were a gay man?

Let's ask James Buchanan.

29 USC 16024 clearly states that Presidenting while black is a class A federal felony with a minimum punishment of simultaneous electrocution, immolation, and waterboarding.

The insane fringe, aka the entire farking party.

And no, the "sane" ones don't get a pass. They let their loonies prattle on about long form birth certificates in public and they don't take their votes or their money elsewhere, so they can go through the election with this millstone around their neck.

When I see birthers violently and unapologetically removed from any and all republican events to the cheers of those in attendance, then I'll start thinking that you've located your marbles somehow. Until then, fark everyone who identifies as a republican.

I think that part was declared a violation of the Eighth Amendment because it would be cruel and unusual to force somebody to shove their penis up the President's butt for no reason.

Not surprising, given the human tendency to inferred justification. See (doi:10.1111/j.1475-682X.2009.00280.x). They don't like that President Obama is the president; therefore, they infer there must be a reason he isn't.

Cythraul: I wonder what the conspiracy theories would be like if the president were a gay man?

They'd be calling for his impeachment for violation of the UCMJ sodomy ban, on the theory that "Commander In Chief" is a military rank making him subject to the UCMJ.

Isn't there a provision in that law that automatically declares the losing VP nominee from the previous presidential election President?

Yeah, that's section 2 of that chapter. Section 1 is the section I referenced previously.

I came in here to say something about how the insane fringe of the GOP is the GOP. Has anyone mentioned that yet?

LoneWolf343: That's nothing. There are still people who believe Kennedy assassination theories and that 9/11 was an inside job.

When a troofer asked Bill Clinton about 9/11 being an inside job Clinton called him an idiot and laughed him out of the room.

I'd love to see a republican -- ANY republican -- do that to one of these birther morons. They won't. They can't. Either they themselves are imbecilic bigots or they're afraid of alienating the all-important GOP base of imbecilic bigots.

They already "accuse" him of being gay. Part and parcel of the whole "he's an other!" thing. Seriously, troll freeperville for a little while and you'll see insinuations about his time in Chicago, his 'lost years' in college and everything. Apparently if life isn't recorded in exacting detail all other available moments you obviously are having hot sweaty gay sex. With Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, and George Soros. Basically code for sex with the Devil.

"I have reason to be suspicious," Pendergraph said, according to The Huffington Post. "But I don't know. I haven't seen the facts. I think there's a lot of smoke and generally when there's smoke there's got to be fire somewhere."

Yeah, or a smoke machine. That smoke ISN'T REAL.

You mean the Secretary of State that 'took it all back'?

And what is special about radio talk show hosts that makes them infallible? All people want is to blame their problems on somebody else, and the radio and news talk show hosts know that and capitalize on it.

As for "state GOP leaders, assorted Congresspeople", yeah, we have plenty of batshiat insane people in office, you think election to office makes them smart?

And we're not going to even go into the whole reason that nobody with a functioning brain actually takes Fox News seriously as a news agency...

2012-05-23 01:49:32 PM
It's going to be funny watching the base (aka the fringe) get all frothy as the election season goes on. Their candidate can't publically align with them but at the same time he needs them. Dog whistle buzzwords won't be enough for the base but that's all Romney will be able to muster

A couple months of that and the base will be convinced Romney isn't with them.... That's when I suspect the evangelicals will start attacking his momanism

Certainly plausible

How many times does someone have to point out that Obama did not write or publish that? It was done by a most assuredly Kenyan registrar in the very beating heart of Kenya.

It will, then Oliver Stone will make a hysterically inaccurate movie about it and it'll come back for good.

My friend grew up as an Air Force brat, and his dad settled in the Northeast after retirement. His dad was always the more moderate, liberal one (Conservative about national defense, obviously, but very moderate and even liberal on social stuff) and my friend the conservative (More of the old school, fiscal type, not a social, Bible-thumping one). Post-2008, it's been not just a total flip, the entire table went sideways. His dad is an out and out teabagger and my buddy is an atheist liberal living in Europe. How did his dad go from being a moderate to being a believer in birtherism?

Because the f*cking President is black.

That's how f*cked up this whole birther thing is. It's something that brought out the worst insecurities in a wide swath of middle aged, white Americans. Republicans pounced right on it. Families are split up over this sh*t.

Most birthers are illiterate, of course they don't trust a document that has all sorts of funny symbols on it. That is why they are waiting for the movie of Obama's birth to come out before they'll believe.

A classic, for those who thought Birtherism started with Hillary in '08:

Tom Craighead, guest column New window

Author, publisher, and internet pundit Tom Craighead recently wrote the following to his subscribers. It is reproduced here with permission. After reading this, you can visit his website. His book, The Lethal Liberal Society in America, is available on Amazon.

Barack Obama vs An Angel From Heaven, Angela McGlowan

Barack Hussein Obama. What color is he? I think of him as a chameleon, you know, the little lizard that changes colors all the time. He is playing the "race card", changing colors to suit his audience.

When Barack talks to black audiences, he talks "ebonic" to show his black brothers he is one of them. "Yassah, vote fo me, and I'll keep those welfaya checks a commin'. I'm with y'all, heah?"

Obama was educated in "Ivy League" schools. He is very bright, and speaks with a golden tongue when he addresses white audiences. And yes he sounds very convincing. And yes he can change his color to suit his audience. He is playing the "race card".

Obama's downfall will be (hopefully) that he is an anti-war Democrat, and he so often states, "I voted against the war from the beginning!" Is he being honest with the people? Telling one group one thing, and another group something else - in his effort to FOOL America. Or as my friend Angela McGlowan very appropriately put it, he is BAMBOOZLING America. More on Angela further down in this blog.

How powerful is Obama? Well, he beat the conservative of all conservatives Alan Keyes for the senate race in Illinois. Granted, Keyes is not from Illinois, he was sent there to run against Barack. But hey, Barack is not 'from' Illinois either. He was born in Hawaii before it was a state. Hmmm, it was a territory of the US, but not yet a state. Hmmm again.
