Thanks Burn Notice!

I'm still mad they killed Larry. He was fun.

Larry was the kind of guy you LOVED to hate...

Oh he was a psychopath, but you knew some funny shiat was going to happen when Michael blew it up on Larry.

When I was little, we found a pizza. It looked like, like, butchered. The old women in the village crossed themselves, and whispered crazy things, strange things. "El Diablo cazador de pizzas." Only in the hottest years this happens. And this year, it grows hot. We began finding our pizzas. We found them sometimes without their toppings... and sometimes much, much worse. "El cazador trofeo de los pizzas" means the demon who makes trophies of pizza.

mekki: A Spanish themed pizza place...I don't know if that is weird or hilarious. Maybe both. I want this trend to continue to in other food items. I want to taste Swedish sushi. How about some Indian haggis? Or maybe a Chinese bagel. Actually, I am curious as to what a Chinese style bagel would taste like.

We get these places all the time in NY - Thai/Chinese/Mexican, or Italian/Thai, or my favorite: Chinese/Soul Food.

Oh, the indignation! I don't speak Spanish, but I think this is awesome. The only way it's "discrimination" is if it had to be perfect Spanish, or even good (and TFA says it doesn't), or if English really was the official language (and we have none). I get why anglophone conservatives have their panties in a twist over it, but yes, they're being silly. And the thing about the pesos? Seriously? People got upset over that, too? How can you not be a bigot if you're upset over that?

People seriously need to grow the hell up. Sheesh.

I remember when people thought that their deal of accepting Mexican pesos would encourage illegal immigration.

You know, because people will risk their lives sneaking over for some of Pizza Patron's "need to be stoned or drunk" greasy pizza.

One conservative group doesn't like it, either. "It seems to punish people who can't speak Spanish, and I resent that," says Peter Thomas, chairman of the Conservative Caucus, which advocates English as the nation's spoken language. "In public areas, people should be speaking English, and that includes pizza parlors."

"I think private property is a public area," Peter Thomas immediately followed up.

When this reporter asked why he believed that he had the right to enforce or encourage public language laws but felt it was discriminatory for a private firm to offer promotions, Peter Thomas remained strangely silent, occupying a span of time where a normal, fully mentally developed hypocrite could at least come up with a plausible deflection. Finally, after twisting his index finger around in his nostril for several minutes while darting furtive, side-long glances skywards, he licked said finger, leaned forward, and gave his best intense stare.

"'Murika," he said.

We then asked what he considered about situations like the Philly cheesesteak restaurant that demanded English-only ordering, a significant step up from a unilingual-only promotion to a uniligual-only patronage system, Peter Thomas simply smiled and said, "some discrimination is more discriminatory than others. And, of course, some discrimination is good."

He then suggested PBS be defunded for not having significant programs of interest to the America public, such as instructional shows on how to properly minimize the risk of blood-borne pathogens while crucifying gays.

Just more of that trademark racism the USA is famous for. Would it matter if it were French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, or even Latin? Who cares, it's a nice promotion. American's are seriously a bunch of hateful, ignorant dumb farks.

Won't the free market solve this problem? Or is ordering pizza more like abortion and homogays getting married?

Ordering pizza in Spanish is destroying the sanctity of marriage, people. Why do so many people hate freedom?

He means "places of public accommodation," which includes any place that serves the public. The 'public accommodation' is what makes it illegal for a restaurant to refuse service to Jews, but legal for private country clubs to. But yeah, he's a moran all the same.

fark, man, if speaking Spanish is that big a problem for you, move to goddamn North Dakota or some shiat. I've had the Chinese fries, chicken nuggets, and carrot cake. It was a very nice place. The portions were enormous. Practically all you could eat.

"Maybe they thought it was a cute thing to do, but I think it's discrimination," says Marcela Gomez, president of Hispanic Marketing Group, a Latino marketing firm in Nashville. "As an advertising agency, I would never recommend this to my client."

Dude, if giving me a free pizza in exchange for a demonstration of rudimentary knowledge of a second language, then please -- pretty please, with sugar on top -- discriminate the fark against me.

1. Boo f*cking hoo. You have no right to tell anyone what language to speak in public. We have no "official" language, and if I want to speak Klingon or Swahili in the streets, I will damn well do so. There is no law to protect you from being offended.

2. If your dumb conservative ass isn't bootstrappy enough to figure out how to find a website that will quickly teach you how to order a pizza en Español, then you are too farking stupid to deserve a free pizza. See, it's not actually discriminating against non-Spanish speakers, and stupid is not a protected class.

Glad that's settled.

2012-05-22 10:33:27 PM
Well this cements it. There's absolutely nothing you can do that won't offend someone, somewhere. The secret is to live your life as you see fit, and don't worry if you offend others.

Hell, all ya gotta do is go to Google Translate and type in "I would like a pepperoni pizza please," hit the [Spaniish] button and then the [Listen] icon. How hard is that for a free pizza?

Me gustaría una pizza de pepperoni, por favor.

""It seems to punish people who can't speak Spanish, and I resent that," says Peter Thomas, chairman of the Conservative Caucus."

If someone is too farking lazy to figure out how to say "I would like a large pepperoni pizza, please" in Spanish then they should be "punished" for their laziness. Seriously, how farking hard is it to learn one single sentence?

Seriously, how farking ignorant or intolerant or lazy do you have to be to not take advantage of this? The only logical reasons I can think of to not do this is if you do not eat pepperoni pizza or do not like this particular pizza chain. I only wish I lived near one of these so I could try their pizza.

Wait. It's Pizza Patron?

They are farkING AWESOME IN A BOX. No. Seriously. Some of the best pizza I've had. I once organized a pizza lunch for the Bowers Museum staff (back when I worked there), and they normally don't deliver, so I walked there to pick up 10 pizzas and was going to walk back. Store owner says, "Nuh-uh" and gives me a lift back. Note, it was only a ten minute walk or so... but still.

And as much as I dislike having to de-facto learning Spanish because I live in Socal, well... Free pizza? I'd be mangling Spanish with Japanese, but I'll be damned if I won't try!

(Gonna have to find out where the nearst one to my house is)
