So the new 52 is now the new... 55? I've lost count.

And there will be no multiple-continuum problems introduced with this, right? No need for Final Next Crisis on Infinite-r Earths?

Needs more gritty.

I really love Jimmy Olsen's crazy ass silver age shiat, then recently I stumbled across
this:

2.bp.blogspot.com

...About a year into the launch, Vertigo had become a success, and they started announcing other titles. One of them was to be a four-issue miniseries starring Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen. Bizarre Transformations promised to follow "an amnesiac, hallucinating, junkie Jimmy Olsen in a psychotropic journey through a nightmare Metropolis, plagued with drug-fueled Silver Age visions and on the trail of a mysterious, turtle-masked serial murderer, who may in fact be Jimmy himself. Obsessed with a Superman who may or may not exist, Jimmy is about to take the ultimate journey in search of the ultimate truth..."

Unfortunately, it was an April Fools joke. But man...

This title is a kids book, so not counted in the '52.

With Art Balthazar and Franco on it, it will be excellent. Tiny Titans was the best kids comic book around.

Tiny Titans, eh?

On this recommendation I will head for a comic shop and see what I can get.

Seconded. I actually own a comic book store and I, my business partner, and every single one of our employees LOVE Tiny Titans. It's like Calvin and Hobbes meets Teen Titans.

Awesome. I won't even wait till after work, then. I'll go on my lunch hour. Which starts real soon...

... I hope they have them.

/I'm one of THOSE guys you hate to see come in to your store, the one who likes the old books and always ask you if you've had any All American or All Star come in...

Not to mention the "Secret Oranges", and Cyborg getting new boots (his Reboot),
and Robin's struggle to gain control of Batcow in the "Battle for the Cow".

You're much less reviled than they "HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IS MY SPAWN #1 THIRD PRINTING WORTH?!?!?!" people.

I'll join the chorus praising the greatness of "Tiny Titans". I read issues to my boys with my best dramatic interpretation of each character. Probably my favorite sequence to read this way is the bit with Robin and Beast Boy discussing just what kind of creature Lagoon Boy is while Lagoon Boy is sitting right beside them:
"Sorry, let's stop talking about the Fishboy."
"I'M NOT A FISH!"
"Well, you're not a Lagoon, either."
Cyborg's remote control vacuum cleaner is right up there too.

I'll miss "Tiny Titans" but I'm looking forward to seeing what Baltazar and Franco do with "Superman Family Adventures".

/Aw yeah

Lagoon Boy was awesome. The issue where they're looking for Gizmo, and he's hiding in the water was hilarious. "Would the guy you're looking for need a straw to breathe underwater?"

Do you offer to trade it for a roll of toilet paper?

I would...

This was a picture I took of my desk in January 09.
It's trick photography, of a sort... a careful pose. The top Showcase was positioned to hide the missing chunk of cover on the bottom one and they're both covering a date stamp on the AF15... but still... felt awesome to be able to produce that photo. :-)

These books aren't something I'm interested in, but I'm glad they're out there.

Honestly, if the big two cared about creating new fans, there would be more books like the Johnny DC or Marvel Adventures line, and less fanwank material.

I have some in my kid's room too! My husband asked Art to draw them as a present for me shortly before my boy was born, when I couldn't make the last C2N2.

Wonder Girl with her invisible jumprope and Krypto, and Cyborg and Bumblebee!
