This may or may not be good. Chrome may or may not rock, and Internet Explorer may or may not suck.

I'm pretty sure that regardless of how this is spun, IE will still suck.

Chrome and FireFox both seem to have its good and bad days.

Am I the only one still using FireFox?

Chrome has this weird thing that shows it's "calling home" no matter what you disable. Randomly it will act like it has no internet connection, but you can open up Firefox and shiat works fine. Then open up Chrome and webpage unavailable shiat.

I'm still using it. Every time I try to use Chrome, it crashes after about half an hour of use. Firefox RARELY crashes.

Also, the UI of Chrome isn't customizable enough for my liking.

I get tired of shockwave flash crashing at the worst times.

So after an article on the Geek Tab I thought I'd give IE-9 a serious try. The author of the article was very positive about it. Well, it sucked so bad I quit trying after a few minutes.

Too many good browsers to count on IE-X.

Oh yeah? Well I heard that this summer gas prices will either increase, decrease or stay the same.

FF works with DNT and Ghostery, Chrome shares just too much.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with IE9? And it sucks is not an answer. Give me specifics. I use it everyday with absolutely zero issues. Tell me why I should switch.

Tried chrome again the other night, still don't like it.

// not enough configuration options

// doesn't follow the design/integration guidelines for the host OS. IE, they made chrome look consistent across all operating systems, rather than making chrome look integrated into the host OS like the other apps.

Why u no use OS window borders and controls chrome? If I wanted bright window borders, I would have set them that way.

// I also have other issues with crome, but those are somewhat specific to how I browse (apparently, chrome doesn't like it when I open hundreds of tabs at once from a RSS feed, despite having plenty of ram to handle this).

I'm happy with either browser to be honest. The only reason I switched to Chrome is because IE9 suddenly got buggy as hell about two months ago. As in crashing, opening a half dozen of the same window, and making me re-install Flash multiple times a day.

So far Chrome's been running smooth as silk.

I stopped using Firefox around when 3.0 came out. It was crashing constantly and loading pages so slowly I started to wonder if someone had replaced my cable with a 56k.

Chrome has never given me this problem; and on the rare occasions when it does 'crash', at least I don't have to open the task manager and end the process manually before my PC will unfreeze. I had to do this like 3 or 4 times a day with FF at one point before I just said 'fark this' and started using Chrome by default.

Maybe FF is less bloated now, truthfully I don't really know or care because Chrome has given me no compelling reason to stop using it.

/doesn't care if google spies on me because I don't do anything that incriminating/interesting while on the internet

I don't know why you should switch, simply because there really isn't anything *wrong* with IE9, per se. So, the reasons for switching would be in the realm of advantages of other browsers, such as available plugins, improved performance, etc. So, if you should switch, it's because another browser offers something that you want, not because of a defect in IE. Unless, of course, one generally considers the absence or difference in a feature to be a flaw. I don't, but YMMV.

IE9 really isn't that bad. At least it's not a horribly backwards non-standards-compliant pile of ass like the previous versions. If you're a regular user who's not too computer-savvy, then IE9 works adequately.

I'm hoping IE8 dies a faster death than IE6 did. HTML5 has all sorts of exciting new tools for the internet, and IE8 (which has no HTML5 support at all) is going to be a massive drag on the evolution of the web if it stays alive for too long like IE6 did for all those long painful years.
