Can those drunken harpies go that long without passing out?

Ed Finnerty: Can those drunken harpies go that long without passing out?

GMA isn't the boozer show. That's The Today Show, iirc.

Also, if Lara Spencer is reporting on something then you know it's unimportant.

She talks?

I have something unimportant for her to report on...

Guess they need something to fill the time slot of the cancelled soaps.

Well, it's replacing The Chew, so it's an upgrade, even if it's horrible.

And stay tuned for "What the fark Are You Still Doing Here, America?" and "Should I Call You a Cab, America?" and the premiere of the all new prime time variety block, "I'm Sorry America, This Isn't What It Looks Like, Jay Leno Means Nothing to Me, Don't Be Like That America, I Said I'm Sorry" followed by an all new episode of "Fark TV"

so, the 300 emails we got begging us to bring back soap operas were ineffective?

who would have thought that bothering local affiliates to the point of criminal harassment who have nothing to do with a decision made a year ago would be a hollow gesture, and only make those affiliates further support the decision to cut those pieces of ratings cancer out of their lineups?

ABC, we've ran out of ideas for what to run during the daytime so we're using the clone tool

The View
The Chew
The Shrew
The Revolution

I think we need to bring back Bob Barker so he can demonstrate how to properly spay and/or neuter morning show hosts.

I like 'the chew'. Occasionally some one of our operators puts it on during his lunch (they have a TV, If I eat in there I watch with). It's pretty standard WASP middle america fair, but I like Mario Batoli (sp?) enough that it's watchable most days, even if most of the recipes are 'Makes 4000 servings for $1.50!', 'He'll love it!' so crammed with fats and processed food that it makes me go 'ugh, I wouldn't eat that', and I'll heat gas station hot dogs.

Or normally all three.

And today they had on Paula Dean. It was more amusing to watch her not be able to react to the actual audience than anything else.

/detest her 'this is southern y'all' schtick
/Crappy food, crappy accent

GMA always makes me feel queasy... Like I ate something with lots of fish oil and then downed a quart of buttermilk.

I love The Chew. I record it, and watch it in the evening. I know it's about cooking, but the atmosphere on the show reminds me of the old Match Game. I found out that the segment host, Clinton Kelly, is a huge Gene Rayburn fan, so I guess it's sort of understandable. Everyone on the show looks like they are having a grand, old time, and the fun comes through for the audience, too. The only segments we ever fast forward though are the (rare) on-location shots. But the people in the studio are a blast.

No, no it's not. The Chew is fun. It has the atmosphere of Match Game in the mid-'70s.

One or two out of six is "full of"?

Well, if Charles Nelson Reilly, Fannie Flagg, and Paul Lynde were ever on the same episode, that'd make 3 out of 6. And I have my doubts about Gary Burghoff.

I don't think Paul Lynde was on Match Game. He was more Hollywood Squares. And Gary Burghoff substituted for Charles when Charles was on Broadway, so they were not likely to be on at the same time. And Fanny didn't have a permanent seat.

But, really, what does it matter? The show was lots of fun. It's one of the few game shows that is actually as much fun to watch today as when it was originally broadcast. It's actually more fun to watch now because I get most of the jokes that went right over my head as a child. The Chew has that same vibe - a group of people having fun together, and the audience gets to join in. Both shows make me feel like I've been invited to a fun party.

I clearly remember Paul Lynde on Match Game reruns. And I said "If" they were all on the same show.

But you're right, Match Game was probably the most "fun" game show ever. The innuendo and loaded jokes were great, and the copious amounts of alcohol consumed by the cast definitely helped!
