Those mods are probably worse than the actual licensed game. Skyrim is already enough of a GoT ripoff that I'll just play that and scream about The Game and call everyone a whore.

Dammit! I was looking forward to this game but I've come across more than one review saying that it's really bad. I thought Bioshock Infinite cameout this summer but it looks like it is pushed back to next year.

There needs to be a Skyrim DLC out soon! Love that game and still not bored with it! Level 53 Nord, beat the main storyline, thieves guild, companions, civil war, and found all the dragon masks. I maxed out my archery skills, along with enchanting, and smithing. I'm basically a one shot one kill with the Daedric bow and am a tank in Daedric armor. I only seem to die when I fall!

Eh, the game isn't that bad. It's not amazing, by any stretch, but it's a decent story, and while the loading is slow and there's a couple of annoying bugs, they don't break the game. The PS3 version is a solid 3 star game out of 5, maybe 3.5 if you care more about a good storyline and less about the graphics.

I own this game but have yet to really get into it, I've spent maybe an hour playing it.

Farking Steam and their crazy sales. I always end up buying games and never play them, mainly because I own Skyrim and Hearts of Iron 3.

It's one of those games that seems more like a toy than a game. I don't know if you can ever actually win or anything and there's obviously no plot. But there's something about it that is sick addicting once you figure out how to win battles.

That's the impression I got from the little time I've spent with it. I tried a mounted battle using a sword and got my ass handed to me. I didn't even know I was being shot at with arrows or bolts until I was dead! The tutorials were a little confiusing as well, I lost interest and then got absorbed in other games. I'm going to give it a try once I finish Skyrim.

Metro 2033, STALKER, The Witcher, The Walking Dead, Shadow Complex, Spiderman 2, Batman Akham City/Asylum, Chonicles of Riddick (better than the movie), The Darkness, some of the Star Wars games such as KOTOR, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Xmen Origins: Wolverine, The Punisher, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Wanted, The Warriors, Nightmare on Elm St (NES), Deadliest Warrior, Marvel Vs. series, etc

Yeah definitely a steep learning curve in that game and the tutorials are useless. They just sort of drop you into it. Took me ages just to finally beat someone in combat, and it gets really old being taken prisoner and having all your inventory robbed by vagabonds every time you try to trade some goods. hmm I need to boot it back up, haven't played in ages, I still have aspirations for my character.

I didn't come here to post spoilers, but I'm pretty sure he had it right. Robb and Cat were both killed at the wedding, but Cat later was brought back by Dondarrion.

Catching up. On episode 5, but read all the books.

Play Warband instead of standard M&B and get the Diplomacy mod. Get the handle on the game for a little, and start cranking the difficulty with 1:1 damage to the player and party, faster battles, Diplomacy AI tweaks to hard, and such. Just checking Steam, I have played Warband 67 hours across two characters. Trying to be titled marshal, destroying a nation almost utterly, and defecting to support an usurper to the throne is great.

Will check on the mod because I do wish there were more story and the characters were more appealing. Something addictive about the mounted combat and sieges, though, especially with how simultaneously powerful and yes vulnerable I feel; one errant couched lance towards me and I get knocked down and my charger gets crippled, but I wade through armies of archers hacking back and forth.

I agree it should be fair game. But I've heard enough biatching that I'll just start putting spoilers in white because people can't stay out of threads about a TV show that many of the posters have known the plot of the first 3 seasons for about 7 years.

I don't really care if I spoil it for someone who just can't resist clicking on the comments, but I also don't want to listen to someone who started watching season 1 last week and gets pissed when someone mentions that Ned's dead.

There was a Civ V GoT mod that I tried. The map was quite well done but the gameplay didn't quite capture the joy of marching on King's Landing the way I had hoped.

I need to get Skyrim. Or at least a PC that will play it (step 1)

I played it once with some friends who were also into the books way back when they came out on a semi-regular basis. It was pretty fun, but complex and relatively obscure, so the general consensus we could have than just the three of us if we played Axis and Allies or something easily accessible. We got the expansion for more players but couldn't get anyone else to commit to how long the game was.

The collectible card game was also pretty bad-ass, but even less accessible. Even the Magic players looked at us funny but L5R had taught me to ignore those chumps anyhow.

More or less complex than Settlers, and longer or shorter games (average game time being +1hour)?

SIgnificantly more complex than Settlers, about 3 hours long, and really needs five (or six) players to be any good.

Quite a good game though, if you're into that sort of thing

Hrmm, intriguing but don't have enough friends willing to stomach a board game for so long, which is strange since we do d&d for whole evenings.

Called it after the RTS fail.

I couldn't get through the first act because of the buggy and unfriendly UI.

I would really love a real RTS mod for it, the civ one doesn't cut it because it's basically a map and name changed enemies.

I found it totally by accident, and loaned it to everyone I knew. My then-wife was a teacher, and one of her seniors loved the book so much that she got him a "House Stark" shirt for a graduation present, and I got a "House Baratheon" shirt for myself. I am actually enjoying the GOT game alot right now... and much more than skyrim which i found boring as hell.. and i love how the game makers placed the game in a time just before the shows timeline..

But anyone that hasn't read the books should, they are 100x better than the tv series..
