Reading is silly.

Gunny Highway: Reading is silly.

Well, it is a little silly seeing a large, muscle-bound pro athlete reading a book written for adolescents.

That said, any time celebrities promote reading it's probably a good thing.

Considering he barely graduated HS, that's probably about his reading level.

Agreed.

That's just being mean to be mean. The hunger games has recently been read by 90% of my workplace. Is it surprising that Adults read the same books they would have enjoyed in their youth? How many of you watch movies they loved as a kid still?

When will we see pics of West and Collison watching Battle Royale?

Ah yes, I'm known for my excessive criticism of LeBron on this site.

That was being mean to be mean you have no idea of what the man's education level is at, or his reading ability. It is almost like you have a fantasy of a dumb Lebron that you could control and seduce.

At first I read that as "Game of Thrones", and was surprised and then a bit ashamed for assuming that he would be incapable of enjoying a book that many have found to be a "difficult read". Then I re-read the headline.

I'm not sure I'd go admitting that you had problems with reading the headline in a thread where we're making fun of people's reading ability.

Hey that was mean just to be mean. Leave the HIllbilly alone. You have no idea what his reading or education level is. 90% of the people I work with enjoy misreading fark headlines. Don't you go back to your childhood misunderstandings every once in a while to enjoy those?

Seriously guys, half the fun of Fark is misreading headlines. Also, IAmRight, I feel that your response was disingenuous, and that, in fact, you most likely would admit to such a mistake.

Ive seen movies I enjoyed in my youth, some have held up. Others I think to myself "God I watched some utter crap."

groppet: Others I think to myself "God I watched some utter crap."

Those are depressing, especially when someone else hasn't seen it and you're all excited for them to watch it and you realize that they're thinking less of you as every minute goes by. But you can't just say "but I don't like it now!" because then they're going to also judge you and assume that you're going to watch it after they leave.

Almost finished reading the last of the trilogy. And I like it but something's missing that I wish was there but probably shouldn't be since the books are marketed to adolescents.

Or maybe it's because I read all the released Game of Thrones books just before reading Hunger Games and I miss all the naughty sex oh so much.

I have been advised not to read these books. My brother literally threw them away after finishing them so nobody else could read his copy. The ending is totally shiatty when it could have been "right."

/back to hating most of the characters in a song of fire and ice.
//that doesn't flow as well as "wheel of time" or "sword of truth"
