Yeah but if you make female-specific armor, the video game blogs get clogged up with white knights saying that the armor should be unisex.

All female soldiers are now to be issued three helmets. Problem solved.

I believe the military is in the later stages of designing uniforms that are meant for women. In the current war format, making body armor specifically for women would not be the big of a deal. The Army already issues two different kinds, IOTVs and plate carriers, of multiple sizes, and up until last year, in both Multicam and ACU. Adding separate versions for women wouldn't really be all that difficult during the issuing phase. You keep the same vest your whole deployment unless it gets destroyed.

However, if we wage another massive war such as Korea or WWII, the military's intricate logistics are going to bite us in the ass.

It's not such a big deal unless they are really, really stacked. My mother in law is a DD and she wears a class III vest with trauma plates without issue.

Don't get me wrong, I don't condone discrimination of any kind in the armed forces, but men and women are in fact different. I know a LOT of guys who didn't get the assignments THEY wanted because of color blindness. You fit the armor, or you don't go into combat.

According to TFA, it's more an issue of the stature of men vs. women and the armor being designed with larger body frames in mind. Boobies are more fun to talk about though, but not really the problem. (Actually, when are they ever a problem?)

My mother in law is a DD and she wears a class III vest with trauma plates without issue.

Why would you ruin the image of a double D with the words "mother in law"? For the love of god, why?

Dear military,
We have the technology to make boob armor, and it is a problem that must be solved.

No more stealth bombers until you protect the ta-ta's properly.
...and make them look perky while your at it.

Best regards, US taxpayers.

So what you are saying is that each and every man who has ever been in the United States military has had the exact same physical dimensions.

women shouldn't be in the military, let alone in combat

I'm just saying what everyone else is already thinking and won't admit

It's probably the combination of stacked with small waist where they're running into problems. A chick who's flat-chested could just lash into a scrawny vest, and a chick who trends a bit beefy (not that that's allowed as much as it used to be the way they're cracking down on everyone's weight) would be fine with the boobs just squashed on in.

But if you have a chick who's got boobies and a small waist, and you have the plates in the vest, you may not be able to get a vest that both covers the boobs and lashes in properly around the waist. Also, they're not saying it, but some of the chicks going into the service have boob implants, and those don't squish down quite as well as natural breasts do. That may be causing problems, too.

We just aren't shaped like you. At least, you seem to like us better when we're not.

I would like to see more women in combat, maybe then we would see reason to provide them with the support/gear they need.

Like field Tampoons that double as weapons.
