Is he wrong? Christ, Artest took as many shots as Gasol Saturday night. Freaking Ramon Sessions had as many points.

He's right that Gasol should have taken more shots. The problem is, as Bynum(the hell?) pointed out they should have been trying to slow things down and work for better shots. The last thing you want to do when an opponent goes on a run while behind is try to match their pace.

No, Kobe. You need to make more shots, you ballhog f*ck.

Not that I'm rooting for that to happen.

kobe should know how to get his team-mates involved in a game, this is as much on him as it is on anyone else.

that said this team was doomed after the nixed trade, sowed seeds of discontent and what not

Meltdown? Could it be OKC is a superior team and it would actually be surprising if the series wasn't over in five?

2012-05-21 05:03:41 PM
Wait. So they've coughed up 2 leads in this series at the end of games?

How about you play better D or just tip your hat and give props to Durant and Co. Being younger and better?

How do you not double Durant in the last minute of the game and make ANYONE else beat you?

/not that Durant wouldn't necessarily hit the shot anyway

Kobe has never been a very gracious loser. But he's gonna have to get used to it.

Jim from Saint Paul: How do you not double Durant in the last minute of the game and make ANYONE else beat you?

He dribbled up the court and pulled up on MWP, didnt he? Very confusing.

The Los Angeles Lakers are facing elimination in OKC tonight, and as always, are embroidered in internal team drama.

Wat.

Ramon Sessions does crochet work during the 4th quarter on the bench. Not like Kobe will pass to him anyway.

It is Kobe's fault that they lost game 2 and 4, but he's right about Pau. They don't pay him max money to average 12 points and 9 rebounds in the playoffs. Averaging only 10 shots in this series is not acceptable and it means he's not being aggressive enough.

Also Bynum has gotten a lot of shiat this season, but he's been the only consistent guy on both ends of the court for the Lakers in these playoffs. If Kobe would've gotten him the ball at the end of game 4 they would've won that game.

Yes. Kobe shot 2/10 in the 4th quarter and is shooting 38.5% for the series. He above anyone else is the reason that the Lakers are losing.

Meh. Probably so, but Kobe would throw him under the bus either way. He's going to be a sulking poor loser regardless of what the other guys do and they ain't beating okc because okc is better than they are. They were all year and they still are.

Kobe needs to learn he isn't the same closer he was for the middle decade of his career. From about his 4th season to his 13th, he was the killer, but he doesn't have that ability anymore. He can still fill up a stat sheet, but younger quicker guys can D him up now. He needs to realize that and quit trying to force things.

And everyone else needs to realize that Gasol is a marshmallow.

Ok, when OKC makes you look bad fine, that's just Durant being Durant. Team on the rise..yadda yadda yadda.

But the Nuggets made Gasol irrelevant in 2 or 3 games as well. Javale McGee, he of his own "Stupid Plays" Youtube videos played with more stones.

Kobe doesn't throw guys under the bus unless they deserve it, I can't think of one time where he was out of line in calling someone else out. He did defend Pau before the season regarding the trade rumors, and he did defend Bynum when he was going through his dust ups with Mike Brown. He just won't cover for them when they don't play well.

I do admit that there could be some agenda behind this, with Kobe trying to cover his legacy a bit by deflecting blame from his late game failures. It won't work. I think the whole team is going to pack it in tonight.

coolio mack: He just won't cover for them when they don't play well.

Nor should he. But a real leader shuts the fark up or takes the blame on himself. Fact is he is at least as much to blame as gasol. He completely screwed the pooch in the last minute of a winnable game the other day and he wants to talk about his teammate? That's pretty low rent if you ask me.

When asked if the Lakers practice getting him the ball, he shrugged: 'Yeah, but once the game starts, everything changes. It should be simple. I don't know why it's hard for us.'"

that's because Brown is the coach during practice, and Kobe Bryant is the coach when the game starts

I loved the Lakers during the epic battles with the Celtics in the 80s, my GF and I would fire one (or two) up and holler our asses off at the TV....Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Rambis vs Bird, McHale, Parrish, DJohnson (aka Simon Bar Sinister), it was farking ON, and the reason we loved it was the fact that they were teams, not one or two guys and a bunch of others like it seems today.

Kobe's a great player and a HOFer, but I couldn't care less about the Lakers anymore.
