I saw a preview for Battleship a week ago before The Avengers and it looked dreadful. Making a movie about a game with no possible plot that was not so popular as to draw in those with fond rememberances is pretty stupid. Guess we can look forward to Tick-Tack-Toe next summer.

The movie looks like excellent Netflix fodder. I don't mind waiting. BUT why in FSM's name would anyone think basing a movie off the game of Battleship is a good idea. Just leave the Battleship link right out of it and call it a cheesy sci-fi flick. Hell, keep the name even. Pulling in Hasbro is just stupid. I'm sure it sounded like a fantastic idea when some Hollywood bigwig was snorting coke off a hooker's [favorite body part] but no. Hell no.

I cannot believe this movie made its money back. I cannot believe there are people out there dumb enough to shell out for this crap fest. At $10 a pop and 240 million over the weekend that's...
24 million people dumb enough to see this. Now, granted, that's its total worldwide take, and since there's, like, 6 billion people in the world, probably around 1 billion of which actually have the money and the access to see this pile of garbage, it's a tiny percent of people in the world that are actually dumb enough to do it. I still think the fact they made their money back is a f*cking tragedy.
