$7. So the price of a bottled water then?

2012-05-20 01:38:07 PM
Don't like it? Then don't go. Downtown Disney is still fun and still free.

From the article:The $7 hike is on par with annual changes over the past decade: Disney has boosted prices between $2 and $7 annually over that time.

Oh noes! Not on par with growth in prices for luxury entertainment! This = Outrage

If you need Disney World to enjoy your life, than you need to work on your life.

Like colleges, Disney and other theme parks will continue to raise admission prices at rates higher than inflation so long as people continue to come. They're just trying to discover what the market will bear. Nothing new here.

It all depends on what you do there and when you go.

Me, last Saturday, having a blast in The Living Seas exhibit at EPCOT:

True. Happily, so far there is not a massive federal infrastructure of loans and grants to subsidize the cost of going to Disney. So at some point they'll hit the inflection point of the demand curve.

Was 99$ for a yearly pass when I was a kid and teen in the 90s. $129 for the deluxe pass with no blackout days. Would get dropped off at the hotel and take the monorail into the park. Can't even do that anymore.

Now it's $65 for a yearly pass to Knotts with 2 blackout days(Thanksgiving and Christmas). I just get that and enjoy myself with some bombass rollercoasters

Incorrect. Just be dive certified, pay a little extra, and hop on in.

Enjoy your smugness as we, the paying, subsidize your admission.

You're thinking of Six Flags and Raging Waters

That reminds me of a famous Michael Eisner quotation: "What kind of Mickey Mouse operation are we running here?"

Or am I just misremembering that?

Oh, who cares?

Michael Eisner. Second only to Princess Michael of Kent and Michael Jackson as a punchline.

Princess Michael of Kent.

Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee!

You had to be there.

1 disneyland ticket = Full day @ Knotts with food

Step 1: Get in free (no excuse to pay if you live in Florida)
Step 2: Use the money saved towards drinking around the world (remember, the UK is actually 4 countries)
Step 3: Be a complete drunken asshole. You'll never see any of those people ever again.

Hahaha still not going you bastards. Haven't gone in 6 years and will not go again at $87 a person. F-that. And I live only 1 hour away,

Didn't they LOWER their rates several times during 2008-09?

2012-05-21 12:31:21 AM
Last time I went I bought a book of E-Tickets. Still have some left.

Get off my lawn.

Gotta get to eBay in 26 minutes.

Love the Downtown Disney! Other then Magic Kingdom second favorite part of that park.

GOing back in October. Refurbished Thunder mountain. Yes please!

Dwight_Yeast: Didn't they LOWER their rates several times during 2008-09?

They dropped Hotel prices a lot and continually had free dining. I loved the free dining option and going to Epcot.

They can raise the price to $150 per ticket and guess what, people will still pull their kids out of school 3 days before vacation actually starts to go there. I work for an airline and I've learned that Mickey supersedes school no matter what.

Were burgers, fries and a cherry coke a cool quarter too?

And you could top that burger with a slice of onion from your belt, because that was the style at the time.

I would be outraged at this 7 dollars, but I am still more outraged at the 8 dollar Netflix increase.

I've been pulled into the ol' "Let's drag everyone to see Mickey before the kids get too old" thing. I hope my kids enjoy the crap out it but the only expectation that I have is me trying not to burn while capturing memories on camera.
