Frozen_Puck: I'm pretty sure my family and I could kill a penalty against these Kings...

I think if the Kings had the option they'd choose to go a man down during their power plays

wings dont' seem too interested in this game.....they seem on a level disinterested as compared to the prior three games. it as if the teams switched uniforms. the Yotes were lacking in energy and execution the first three adn the Kings imposed their will but in this game, other than a few scraps, it seems the Kings are just waiting out the clock. "we'll get 'em Monday night, boys."

I am really not liking the "LET'S GO KI-INGS" chant. Save that one for teams that actually have two syllables in their names.

darwinoid: eddievercetti: darwinoid: I would have bought season tickets for the Coyotes had they settled in the Los Arcos site

Mesa would have more logical sense but since Glendale pushed the fact the Cards were going to Glendale as well and here we are.

Anything - except perhaps Apache Junction - would have made more sense than Glendale.

How far away is Glendale from Phoenix?

I drove 2 hrs one way to STL without thinking twice about it.

non-arizonans, you cannot understand how colossaly dumb it was to build an NHL arena where they did.

i mean, dumb analogy approaching, but.....pictrure an NFL franchise in.....Cuba. a fanbase that doesn't care, is difficult to physically get too, and

sorry, i know enough to know the Detroit RED WINGS are a traditionally dominant franchise, just a slip.

lot of red wings fans here. if i had to pick one franchise that in phoenix, shows it allegiance, without a miillisecond's hesitation, it would eb the Wings. That little red wheel logo is seen far more than you'd think, but rarely do you see any other franchise. I'd say occasionally the Avs, the Ducks, but the overwheleimning presence is the Red Wings.

Went to a Lightning v. Wings game, was just a sea of red. Every seat filled, bars before and after with red shirts and sweaters; I don't believe they gave away all of the lightning clacking noise maker things that night cause I still saw boxes when we left.

rickythepenguin: mephisto6: Bad move letting that get away

and worse yet, the Yotes and the NHL were practically begging to build there, and Scottsdale in its arrogance actively foguht the hell out of it.

and like I said, congratulations scottsdale, 12-15 years of various forms of revenue, sales tax at minimum, secondary level investment aka the "spillover" from retail looking to build nar the the arena (althgouh Glendale's Westgate is a poor example), congratulations.

15 years of NOTHING. NOTHING. it's freaking dirt. literally. a fenced off area and dirt.

smart decision.

So true. Wings/Coyotes games at Glendale usually have significantly more Wings fans in attendance than locals.

it really isn't far, but the larger issue is when you have a 40+ home game season, if those games are sunday-thursday, it is a pain in the ass due to traffic. and from most metro phoenix suburbs, it is a haul.

ballpark estimates, accoungint for rush hour traffic:

scottsdale / tempe = 60 minutes
gilbert = 80
anthem = 30
"phoenix" = 30
chandler = 60
laveen = 30
glendale = 20
awahtukee = 80
gold canyon = 70

so if a game is friday or saturday, no worries. but that much of the season on a work night?

Not sure why, but I enjoy there being an actual home advantage in hockey. Every other sport talks about home field, but this is just the energy from the crowd. We have second positioning and last change.

More Laker fans than Suns fans
More Steelers, Packers, and Cowboy fans than Card fans
More Yanks fans than D'Backs fans
More Wings fans than Yotes fans

People really like moving here, it was so peaceful 10 years ago.

I'm sorry, was that just a commercial saying "The Passat is awesome because its doors make a loud sound when you close them?"

And then the DirecTV "Don't make your house explode" ad is hilarious because it's the illogical conclusion of the insane ads. Now please, no more of them.

(hoping not to jinx things but...)

I'm glad that the Coyotes managed to pack away the brooms. At this point I don't see any realistic way that they're going to come back & win the next three games too, but I'm glad that they're managing at least one 'W' out of the series.

In a college football overtime (which is basically the same thing), why do you think the winner of the coin flip chooses Defense First 99 44/100% of the time?
