I'm keeping my fingers crossed for IHA. It's been too long since we had a triple crown winner. Bodemeister really was impressive in the Derby though. I really thought he was going to do it when they turned for home. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he blows them all away today.

I just hope that NBC isn't as annoying in its coverage today as it was in the Derby. If they're going to claim the rights to all of the races, they could at least show the damn post parades and stop the endless blathering and human interest stories. Otherwise, let TVG also broadcast the races for the people who actually care about see the horses and you know, the racing.

Will Kegsus make another ill-advised appearance?

*Kegasus

I hope Bodemeister doesn't win. Something about him just screams "We'll run him until he wins a big one, find a 'problem' and quickly retire him to stud before his star begins to fade"

Can you run away from your wife when she realizes you lost $500 and are fall-down drunk?

As of yesterday, the answer is yes.

/Bodemeister out early = Bodemeister win.
//I am in for $2000 on that.
///Watch and weep.

Joke's on you subby. I'm not married, so I can blow all the money I want and get as drunk as I want.

It is. But even more so in boxing and horse racing.

Sweet, a horse racing thread but no Champions League final thread.

Hi. Welcome to Fark. See that link up to the right? The one that reads "Submit a Link" in big blue letters? That is for you to use to submit links to this website and have them appear in their respective sections. Keep in mind though, less than 5% of submitted links make it to the main pages, so don't get all bent out of shape if one of yours is not selected.

I'm sure but my cynical outlook just makes it worse.

I remember arguing with the gf about going to Vegas or biloxi to gamble and she yelled at me that Im being sexist saying women can't gamble I just told her everyone sucks at gambling not just women. I never understand pissing money away when the odds are stacked against you. I would rather just rather go deep sea fishing and drink by the beach.

So what's this headline then? "Are you ready for some futbol???? Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich, Champion's League final. 2:45 PM on Fox"

Then that is what you should do. I don't consider it pissing money away to gamble, even though I know the odds are against me. I have it to blow if I want to, and I am not in it to make money. I am in it for the excitement, and nothing more. It is nice when I do win a bundle, but I sure wouldn't ever count on it for any sort of an income.

BTW, there is a Champions League link on the sports tab just a couple below this one.

Well I feel retarded. Saw the youtube link, didn't think soccer, and didn't bother to read the headline.

Here is my problem with this:

I love horse racing. When there is a tripple crown bid, I drag myself to belmont. I hate going to belmont. EVERY year I go, it sucks. The weather sucks. Its super hot, its a pain in the ass to get to. I see people I don't want to see, etc.

So someone better beat IHA, or I'll be pissed in 3 weeks.

It's actually more enjoyable to go when there's no triple crown. Brought my family a few years ago and we took a spot on the apron and had and had a fine time.

Oh, and the best way I found to get there is to park in floral park and climb the gate. They don't care because you still have to pay to get in and it's easier to drive out after.

Fantastic race.

He's a little horse. Looks a lot like my little horse. That is not a euphemism.

How Bodemeister comes out of this will be important. Physically he may be fine, but the mental wear of being beaten by the same horse may affect him.

The Belmont should be interesting.

Chariset: I was certain he didn't have it. Certain. Dead certain. And then suddenly he did

This! I don't mind losing money when I get to see a race like that....great, great finish, and I have to admit that I did not think IHA was good for that again. I can't see not betting on him in NY.

2012-05-19 06:35:17 PM
And it was an honest loss for Bodemeister. He had a more comfortable pace, a shorter distance, and a better trip -- and lost to a horse who went wide around both turns.

2012-05-19 06:41:34 PM
Gotta like I'll Have Another for Belmont. Finishes strong, and it's a longer race.

2012-05-19 06:53:30 PM
Was just flipping around with the remote and came upon it just as they were loading up the gate. Yelled from the recliner to call in the daughter and wife.... Told them I'd guess *that* horse is expected to win, but that one there won the derby as a big longshot and, well, winning'd make it 2/3. Not that any of us thought it'd happen....

Holy smokes what a finish. We all very much enjoyed those several minutes.

Then they left and I resumed flipping around.

2012-05-19 06:56:09 PM
Fantastic race. I had the tri! Didn't win too much. Reminds me of Affirmed and Alydar back when I was 14. Can't wait for the Belmont. Too bad I can't go this time. I went when Smarty Jones was in it.

2012-05-19 07:23:38 PM
This isn't a sport, all they do is turn left. The horse does al the work, anyone can ride a horse. I do it all the time......

/easing the transition into this being the NASCAR All-Star race thread if mods don't put one up.

2012-05-19 07:29:31 PM
does anyone have the complete result list?
