NOW, if obama, as an adult, had renounced his citizenship, THAT would be another story.

But seriously, Obama should come out and say that MAYBE he was born in Kenya, but it doesnt matter, because he is still a natural born american.

He wants Hawaii to give him what he described as "a verification in lieu of a certified copy of a birth certificate."

If I were a Hawaiian official, I'd send him one of those birth certificate coffee mugs, just to be a smartass.

States should have the right to choose who is on the ballot, anyway, although I only believe this provision should be applied to Democratic politicians. In my opinion, this would help to eliminate the number of liberals who destroy this country every day.

What is it about the Secretary of State office that makes people insane? Katherine Harris, Jan Brewer, Karen Handel, and now this guy. Hey, at least he's breaking the glass floor boards and getting a male in on the crazy SOS action.

You joke but the Republicans have been trying to get the winner takes all rules for the electorial college to be like the rules in Maine and Nebraska allowing for votes by Congressional district... but only in traditionally blue states. They'd still get all the electorial votes in states like Texas but in California it would be a mix of red and blue.

Hawaii should just charge $10000 per copy. Either they get a ton of money from stupid people or they stop bugging them. It's win/win.

I hope they threaten to leave the US soon, just so we can not only happily agree, but immediately declare them an enemy of the country and bomb the living shiat out of them.

Arizona's leaders are dumb because people voted them in. So, the people who voted them in must be as dumb or even dumber than those they elected, since supposedly the ones in the lead are the best and brightest.

"Aloha! I'm in HAWAII and you're in the bumfark desert !

In response to you're request, WTF!?!? We sent the official legal document and now you're asking for some half-assed made-up 'verification'?? Sounds like a trap so you can whine about getting a document of questionable value (even though you requested it!) and cater to your Congresswoman-shooting, mouthbreathing, lizard-people worshipping retarded and/or senile base... Why should I care what some Secretary of some fugly hot dry bigoted shiathole of a State wants?

READ THE F*CKING BIRTH CERTIFICATE, MOTHERF*CKER AND QUIT WASTING MY TIME!!!!

Alohahahahahahahahahaaaa!!!'

PS. Did I mention that I was in HAWAII and you're not?

Because he's black.

Because his middle name is Hussein.

Because socialism.

Take your pick.

Because he was born black. The darker the berry, the more he needs to be born in America to be American.

Guess that should be, the darker the Barry, huh?

obenchainr: Didn't Arizona pass a law explicitly stating that candidates had to release their long form birth certificates to qualify? Since Obama's done so, he's therefore met the legal requirement and anything this guy puts him through is illegal under due process, while at the same time not requiring the same of other candidates is illegal under the same law.

So, the AZ SoS may in fact be violating state law and potentially federal law if he doesn't put Obama on and/or doesn't have the long-forms of anyone he does allow on.

Yes they did, and that's a great point.... The original draft of the law allowed them to substitute a circumcision form, because we all know how those are counted as official ID.

schubie: If his mother was American, why the fark does it matter where he was born?

Because the Republicans know they cannot beat him on the issues, and thus are desperate to convince people that he's not legally qualified. They knew it in '08, and they know it now.

pxsteel: The state of Hawaii has not replied

Bennett is doing his job, the state of Hawaii is not doing theirs.

They have ALREADY DONE THEIR JOB. Multiple times. MORE than their job, as a matter of fact. This is nothing but bullshiat until Romney has provided as much as Obama already has AND AZ keeps demanding more. Until then, this is just a witch hunt.

2012-05-18 10:11:31 PM
How about just verifying that according to your records he was born in Hawaii? Why is that so difficult to do?

UCFRoadWarrior: Love reading all the Liberal ButtHurt over the Birther issue

Amazed how many people have never gotten a passport, registered a kid for sports, registered yourself for certain things, (now) not getting a driver license, or a myriad of other things that require a Birth Cert

You need a Birth Certificate for those

But, hey, these are the same people that think Trayvon Martin is a 12 yr old virgin

And Obama has provided a birth certificate. As a matter of fact, he has presented MORE of a birth certificate than is required, and still the dipshiat brigade insists on asking for more and more.

pxsteel: Holy h3ll you farkers are absolutely batshiat.

Ken Bennett is one of the most level headed people in politics. He does not crave the limelight or headlines.

The state requires for each election that documents are collected before they are placed on the ballot, as do most states. The State of Hawaii provides a mechanism for this to work. Ken Bennett did more than lob the state of Hawaii a soft ball he teed it up for them. You don't have to send me an original, simply reply to my e-mail that you do have one on file.

The state of Hawaii has not replied

Bennett is doing his job, the state of Hawaii is not doing theirs.

Congrats! I'm promoting you from "Too stupid to know how insurance works" to "birther."

pxsteel: Bennett is doing his job, the state of Hawaii is not doing theirs.

If he's "just doing his job" and this is normal behavior, then why didn't he say so? He doesn't. Instead, he claims the catalyst for raising this issue was 1,200 letters he received from people after Sheriff Joe dropped his birther investigation. I would say that doing something because you received 1,200 letters about it is not "business as usual" and has f*ck all to do with normal election requirements.

Not to mention, the State of Hawaii has already released the birth certificate. Why the fark is he making them do it again? It's already farking out there!

I am considering looking into office after I hit Upstate NY, and I wonder how they'll take my own citizenship status. Like anyone who was born overseas to a military father, I didn't get a birth certificate, but a certificate of birth abroad. My mother had dual citizenship at birth, and my father was from Mizzoura, but I was born in Okinawa.

My dual citizenship lapsed a long while ago--I haven't been back to Okinawa or set foot in Dai Nippon for over 40 years--but considering that I will have to confront a fairly entrenched Republican sector, I am already considering how that will play out, given the current climate.

John McCain faced similar questions, because of his birth in Panama Canal Zone. These xenophobes are grasping at straws...

namatad: Weaver95: I wonder what happens if this crazy lunatic actually pulls Obama's name off the AZ ballot?

Federal Election Law trumps bum-fark AZ sec of state. Would be fun to watch AZ react to learning about the Voting Rights Act.

Section 2 of the Fourteenth Amendment allows for a state's representation in the House of Representatives to be reduced to the extent that state unconstitutionally denies people the right to vote.

Would be FUN to watch the reaction to AZ losing 50% of their representatives. LOLOLOL.

Plus, at some point, the GOP would risk both retribution from the dems and the voters. so it wont happen. just a cracker making noise.

That's part of the game though, bring the hammer down so the Teabaggers can scream "WAAAAAH! STATES' RIGHTS!!" at the top of their lungs.
