regindyn: qorkfiend: pxsteel: Holy h3ll you farkers are absolutely batshiat.

Ken Bennett is one of the most level headed people in politics. He does not crave the limelight or headlines.

The state requires for each election that documents are collected before they are placed on the ballot, as do most states. The State of Hawaii provides a mechanism for this to work. Ken Bennett did more than lob the state of Hawaii a soft ball he teed it up for them. You don't have to send me an original, simply reply to my e-mail that you do have one on file.

The state of Hawaii has not replied

Bennett is doing his job, the state of Hawaii is not doing theirs.

I can't find an image with enough facepalms.

I'll try:

The article is an absolute lie. I listened to the interview live on the radio on my way home yesterday. Several of the things in the article are absolute fabrications, reaches and outright untruths.

If I see emails from my family that don't have a subject of something family related, they aren't even viewed. I was dumb in 2008 and tried to get my aunt to understand that gay people were people, too. But they gave her the willies so badly that she marched for Prop 8.

I don't get into one of those again. No. Way.

I'm taking that advice right now. I can't open them anymore.

I probably shouldn't feed the trolls, but here's the actual Arizona statute establishing the requirements for getting onto a Presidential election ballot:

16-242. Qualifications for ballot; nomination paper

A. A person seeking nomination as a candidate for the office of president of the United States shall sign and cause to be filed with the secretary of state a nomination paper that contains the following information:

1. The name, residence address and mailing address of the candidate.

2. The name of the recognized political party from which the person seeks nomination.

3. The name and address of the chairman of the candidate's state committee.

4. The exact manner for printing the candidate's name on the presidential preference ballot pursuant to section 16-311.

B. The nomination paper shall be filed not less than fifty days nor more than seventy days before the presidential preference election and not later than 5:00 p.m. on the last day for filing.

C. Section 16-351 does not apply to a nomination paper filed pursuant to this section.

D. Within seventy-two hours after the close of filing the secretary of state shall certify to the officer in charge of elections the names of the candidates who are qualified for the presidential preference election ballot.

---------

Odd, nothing about birf certificates in there.....

The stupid shiat that comes out of Arizona is from the elected officials there.

Marcus Aurelius: Bennett, the state's No. 2 elected official just below Gov. Jan Brewer (R), said his investigation isn't personal. He said the reason he started looking into it is because he got more than 1,200 emails asking him to do so after Arpaio's investigation came out

So if he got 1200 emails asking him to investigate Santa Claus he'd be on the next flight to the Arctic?

Sure.

How many times does Hawaii have to release the birth certificate?

"April 27, 2011

The governor's office said that "longstanding" policy has been not to provide photocopies of actual records to fulfill requests for certified copies of certificates but that an exception was made in response to Obama's request.

Hawaii Health Director Loretta Fuddy "exercised her legal authority in a completely appropriate manner in this unique circumstance," state Atty Gen. David Louie said. "We will continue to maintain the strict confidentiality requirements afforded to vital statistics records, such as birth certificates. These requirements help protect the integrity of the records and keep us all safe from crimes, such as identity theft."

Obama's long-form record was retrieved, and two photocopies were made on Monday, witnessed by Fuddy and certified by the state registrar.

Judith Corley, Obama's personal legal counsel, came to the State Department of Health building personally to retrieve them, paying the requisite fees." -Link

2012-05-18 06:00:19 PM
On Thursday, Bennett said he sent his request to Hawaii officials eight weeks ago but has yet to get the proof he was hoping for. He said he didn't want another copy of the birth certificate. He wants Hawaii to give him what he described as "a verification in lieu of a certified copy of a birth certificate."

How about any of the numerous newspaper articles and statements from Hawaiian officials? Are those not good enough?

In the weeks since then, Bennett said, Hawaii officials have forced him to provide proof that he is who he says he is. They asked him to send them copies of the Arizona laws that prove the secretary of state really is the person in charge of handling the ballots.

Poor guy. It must suck to have someone require you to provide a ridiculous amount of proof for something that is usually accepted without question. Maybe they're racists.

You need a Birth Certificate for those.

What kind of an idiot believes you need a birth certificate to get a driver's license, register your kid for sports or even get a passport? I haven't even seen my birth certificate since I was about 10 and while I admit that I don't have a passport, I've done every other thing a person might expect... get a license, credit card, register my kid for sports, signed up for dozens of things, gotten a replacement SS card... all without a birth certificate.

How about Obama promises to build that wall across the Mexican border that Arizona wants so bad, and then once the southern border is done they just keep going around the perimeter of the state? It's not like anything useful comes out of the place. If it turns out we desperately need some sand or stupid retirees we can send Kurt Russell in to get it. Otherwise just treat it like a quarantined zone -- it seems like the place has been overrun with some sort of Derp virus.
