Someone's going to come in and talk shiat about anyone who suggests a Section 31 show but that doesn't mean it wouldn't rule.

Can we please, for the love of God, get a movie about Voyager, by far the best Trek Series of all time?

Don't forget the accusations of masturbating over your own Section 31 fanfic!

/Section 31 would be decent, but why not a Trek anthology show covering various points and events in the Trek universe? Section 31 could be a part of that.

I'd like a crumbling Federation show. It would have a 5-7 year arc leading into the beginning of Andromeda's Commonwealth. The slipstream drive was introduced in TNG and Voyager, and there's a bunch of different species in the Andromeda universe.

How about any idea with good writing and a plot that networks are not allowed to play out of the written order. Oh and anything you have found from previous episodes, you can use in future ones to solve your problems.

You want Babylon 5 or Stargate.

As for Trek, any idea that doesn't allow Berman or Braga anywhere near it works for me.

The captain and the dr. Sing along hour

Will shatner and Matt smith sing along to lady gaga untill the entire audience commits suicide

I'd like a show where every character revises their role only to be lined up by space nazi's and shot in the head. Berman or Braga being last. With a credit roll and asterix that says, this is now canon.

Then we get onto doing something a tad innovative with the damn brand.

I'd like to see Star Trek: The Merchant Marine.

Throw in some of the B-characters leftover from ST:DS9 and Voyager and use them as the crew of a freighter. Firefly with aliens.

Star Trek: Voyager: Reckoning
Every episode consists of the crew of the Voyager being killed one by one in the most spectacularly gory manner possible. Then the ship blows up.

They did that more than once. Stretched it out a bit in the episodes The Year of Hell. Unfortunately, everybody didn't stay dead/blown up ;)

I'd love to see a return to the Delta quadrant, but this time with the Federation as the imperial aggresors. Janeway and crew become a reborn Maquis, protecting their friends and former enemies from the Alpha quadrant threat.

Shran's family.

An Andorian sitcom, with one joke about "blue balls" per episode.

Or, a repeating loop of Rick Berman being slowly tortured, which re-sets at the end and begins again. I could watch that for days.

A new show should focus on the Romulan border and the leadup to and affter effects of the destruction of Romulus that happened in the Star Trek movie.

It could include a nice sendoff of Leonard Nemoy.

- Soap Opera of the inner workings of the Federation ruling class against a high tech background?
- A high tech version of JAG?
- A Star Trek "reality show" of a run-of-the-mill group or maybe an Academy Freshman? (OK, this one sucks.)
- Something from the Klingon point of view?
- An elite band of time travelers that don't step on butterflys? (OK, these are getting worse.)
- "Star Storage Wars"? (Please stop me.)
- A future cop drama involving androids that look just like humans but don't dream of sheep? (This one may have been done already.)
- "Vulcan Star Friends"? (Please, God, stop me.)
- "Star M*A*S*H"? (I'm serious, please stop me.)
- James West XVI? (Hmmm, not so bad.)
- Lt. Roseanne? (Ahhh! Barf! Barf! Barf! Peeuuuukkkkkeee! My EYES! PLEASE GOD KILL M

I've always really liked the idea of an Anthology show. The Star Trek universe is already so well known you can do clever SciFi without spending too much time world-building. Have some well known SciFi authors have an episode here and there, like Heinlein did, and you have the potential for awesome.

/Unless Berman and/or Braga is involved...

MayoSlather: Combine Star Trek and and Firefly 'verses...

But it's an old Galaxy Class starship. Way past retirement. Kaylee barely manages to keep it together, Jayne has to be pried out of the Holodeck (set to IN MY BUNK, MAXIMUM) with a latinum hydrospanner (shut up.), and Jeri Ryan is constantly involved in mudroom (formerly recreation deck, before the plumbing went bad) catfights with Inara.

Dammit. I shouldn't read fanfic ;)

I'd like an anthology series. Like the Twilight Zone only set in the Star Trek universe. Every episode can be from a different species/character's point of view. That'd be perfect in terms of being episodic and also allows far more creativity with the plot and cast.

Amazon.com sent me an email yesterday about some new Star Trek book.. yeesh, sounds like I'm a few dozen books behind on thier storyline.. something about the Typhoon Pact: the Romulan Star Empire, the Breen Confederacy, the Tholian Assembly, the Gorn Hegemony, the Tzakethi Coalition, and the Holy Order of the Kinshaya. They formed a coalition after some big Borg invasion crippled Starfleet, and the Federation and Klingons have been having a cold war with them.

No more prequels and no more reboots. Get us back to the universe and timeline of TNG and DS9. Set it on a starship, on the fringes of the Federation, exploring new worlds and meeting new aliens. Throw in some conflict and the occasional cameo by anyone but Riker.

Star Trek: The New Animated Series

Combining the quality production of the 70s Filmation show, with all the sassy pop-culture references you expect from a modern cartoon.

Only if done by the guys from Williams Street.

How about Star Trek R&D, a combination of Eureka and DS9.

Star Trek WTF : World Terra Formers

And how about fleshing out that 29th century chrono-guard.

The link is blocked for me at work, but the 1970s cartoon was about 95% stock footage each week.

2012-05-18 02:19:53 AM
Guys. GUYS. Come on. The two episodes of Enterprise that actually were over the top GOOD were the Terran Empire ones.

I want a Terran Empire series. I want it to reflect all the really crappy societal problems we have, and stick a thumb in their metaphoric eye. None of this namby pamby symbolic metaphore crap. Have alter-Geordy bullwhipped by some suthron drawly alter-Captain "Haow DAAH yew try to be an enjaneer, you gibberish spewing uppity DAWKIE!" POP! Waw! TOBY!

Have some occupyish guys trying to change the planet Stock-on by singing and lying around the capital WallStrailia and have the alterEnterprise guys beam in and bludgeon the crap out of them, with alterWarf ripping the throat out of the leader with his teeth and doing that Klingon roar with blood and throat bits oozing down his face.

Think of the fun you could poke at people and situations. Over the top, all the way. I'd give it about two episodes and the sponsors would go insane, in a bad way.

2012-05-18 02:20:28 AM
And by metaphore, I mean metaphor.

It's actually been a pretty good storyline. Dunno if you read the Destiny Trilogy (which involved the big bad Borg fight), it involved all the televised series, and how the Borg were born in the first place and how they were ultimately defeated, crippling the Federation. The other powers started their own coalition (Typhon Pact, not Typhoon; the treaty was signed in the Tyhpon Expanse). Only gripe I have is that they jumped forward a few years in the Deep Space Nine side of things (that was my favorite one hands down) and they won't be revisiting that intervening period for another few years, so we have Dax captaining a ship with a few of the characters from those books, Ro I think is now the commander of DS9 and Kira become a Vedek, IIRC. Oh, and Sisko's back and has more or less abandoned his family because the Prophets told him he'd bring nothing but pain to them, so he's commanding an outpost or something.

Oh, and prior to Destiny, this massive Borg ship assimilated Janeway into its new Queen, she regained her humanity at the very last second and self-destructed the ship, killing herself in the process. Or Lady Q saved her at the last possible second and she's living in the Continuum. Before her death, she hooked up with Chakotay and they admitted their love for each other. So he's all despondent, so he's captaining the Voyager as part of a fleet exploring the Delta Quadrant and reconnecting with races along the way and checking to ensure that the Borg are really truly gone. The fleet commander is apparently of some kind of Delta Quadrant species who was raised as human (apparently her only discerning quality to humans is that she's blacker than "Wesley Snipes black") and she's trying to find her homeworld or people. And her ex-husband admiral, who was on the mission as well, wound up either a) secretly being a member of Species 8472; or b) was replaced by one a long time ago, who was using the mission to get back home. And Seven is completely human now (When the Borg went bye-bye, so did all the nanites in her and her implants).

/I read too many Star Trek books

I actually wouldn't mind the Star Trek/Wars universe crossover idea, just don't let Lucas anywhere near it, problem solved.

2012-05-18 02:32:13 AM
You know what? I'm easy. I actually like the Motionless Picture. I pretty much like all things Star Trek.

Just make another TV show already. Put it way in the future. Or TOS time but with some ship that went way into deep space. Or Section 31. Or Voyager on 'stroids and have a ship thrown to another galaxy.

I might go read the article now.

I bought far too many Star Trek paperbacks back around 1990, but nothing for more than a decade.

Hmmm, I was just thinking...

I own the complete run of Red Dwarf.
The Uber Complete SG1 box set.
Most of the current run of Dr. Who

I don't own anything Star Trek or Star Wars. I have Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, the complete Monty Python, but nothing from Lucas or Roddenberry.

I was given a The Sopranos box set for christmas a year or two ago, but it's still in shrink wrap. I saw the whole series already.

I make for a poor geek. I don't go out of my way to obtain episodes of common shows. But I'll break someone's fingers for an episode of Q.I. that I'm lacking.

/Why doesn't anyone make a multi-disc Blu-ray / DVD rig anymore
//It's like they want us to copy everything to hard disk

If they can learn to write outside the 8 Dudes and One Chick formula that seems to be so popular, I might welcome yet another Trek.

Section 31: the backbone of the federation:

Imagine episodes where they arrange for the capture of Picard, before the 4 lights thing. The rebirth of Trip. How they play Bashir.

There are a lot of underlying plots they could go after.

/oh and star trek. V2 in a timeline never happened if khan is the villain in the next movie.

I wanted cardassians dammit.

Star Trek The Next Generation will never be topped.

There is no way in hell they are ever going to be able to beat that cast, that quality in writing, or its style. We are never going to have another Data, Or someone of Patrick Stewart's charisma and integrity.

The nest Star Trek series is going to have Justin Bieber as the captain of the Enterprise and Selena Gomez as the alien he hunts down and farks every episode. It will be too flashy and consist of a bunch of children running around playing with ipads and a holodeck built on the basis some kind of Facebook foundation.
