Mearen: That applies to both sides. The sitting president is proof of it.

So vote Republican?

BillCo: So, they are going to call out Obama on his association with radicals. That hardly seems fair. Everyone knows that only conservatives should get that kind of scrutiny.

Objection! Asked and Answered already

Seriously this story got beat to death last election cycle. What's left to talk about? And please explain, using appropriate citations to his actual speeches, what makes Marine Corps Vet. Rev Jerimiah White a "radical". Please also explain why his infamous phrase "God damn America" is any more "radical" than Pat Robertson's assertions that 9/11 was caused by God's anger at feminists, Or hurricane Katrina was god's punishment on New Orleans for being welcoming to Homosexuals?

Yeah, I'll be interested to hear about the Wright guy. Never heard of him before. And I've heard rumors that there's this guy who used to be a part of the Weather Underground who lives in Obama's neighborhood. I hope they talk about that, too, because the press never report on anything Obama is associated with.

If you are a minority of any sort and you're willing to present yourself as a conservative, the GOP will bend over backwards to try to use you as their public face because they are desperate to show how "inclusive" they are.

They don't care about your qualifications, your speaking ability, your management ability or whether you're dumber than a sack of hammers. They want you so you can give them cover.

That has a real icky, racist feel. Just call them Uncle Toms and get it over with.

I love how the idiots who worship Reagan and voted Bush Jr. into office twice like to pretend that spending pisses them off.

This. These are the same people that ignore the fact that the Republicans controlled both Houses and the WH during the worst economic collapse in US History.

Well, Nancy and co. took over right before shiat started falling apart, but it was clearly conservative policies that led to the crisis.

No, Nancy and Co. took over during the shiat, it's just that all the leading Republicans refused to acknowledge it until late 2008.

I don't know if Powell and Rice should count there. They genuinely are smart and articulate, even if they are (or were, in Powell's case) pawns of the GOP.

Diogenes: "Our plan is to do exactly what John McCain would not let us do: Show the world how Barack Obama's opinions of America and the world were formed," the proposal says. Surely that will be a winner. I mean, when your wild hyperbole so starkly conflicts with reality, who wouldn't be swayed?

I'm sure this campaign will be as successful as others which Fred Davis has had his hand in. After all, he is the genius that brought us Fiorina's demon sheep and Christine O'Donnell's ad reminding us she's not a witch. Remember how well those worked out?

Obama campaign will make some snarky comment about Romney's religion.
Romney campaign will come back and say "Why is Obama dragging religion into this?"
Obama campaign will remind everyone of Joe Ricketts, and his "plan".

Anyone who can't separate a crazypants pastor from a guy in his flock is a goddamned moron.

Anyone who has ever attended religious services more than, let's say 3 times, has heard some crazy shiat - it's the nature of religion. If part of your story is that 9 people lived on a boat for a year with 2 of every unclean animal on Earth, plus 7 pairs of every clean one, you wind up with a weird scaffolding of philosophies. An out-of-context remark (hell, even most in-context ones) will almost necessarily sound ludicrous.

Add to that some Black Liberation theology (which is the LEAST weird and not-understandable part of Jeremiah Wright), and I think most people realize that Obama did not don the crazy pants himself. I grasped Black Liberation theology in a single college lecture at age 21; knowing that the Bible talks so much about slavery (as I'm SURE all the good Christians do), does it really surprise anyone that black folks during the Slavery Days ran with the themes?

Add to that that most people identify Christianity as "antihomosexual", and it's pretty apparent that people are getting very good at separating theology (qua sermons) and parishioners.

Joe Ricketts is a registered independent, a fiscal conservative, and an outspoken critic of the Obama Administration, but he is neither the author nor the funder of the so-called "Ricketts Plan" to defeat Mr. Obama that The New York Times wrote about this morning. Not only was this plan merely a proposal - one of several submitted to the Ending Spending Action Fund by third-party vendors - but it reflects an approach to politics that Mr. Ricketts rejects and it was never a plan to be accepted but only a suggestion for a direction to take. Mr. Ricketts intends to work hard to help elect a President this fall who shares his commitment to economic responsibility, but his efforts are and will continue to be focused entirely on questions of fiscal policy, not attacks that seek to divide us socially or culturally. The strategists grappled with the quandary of running against Mr. Obama that other Republicans have cited this year: "How to inflame their questions on his character and competency, while allowing themselves to still somewhat 'like' the man becomes the challenge."

Lamenting that voters "still aren't ready to hate this president," the document concludes that the campaign should "explain how forces out of Obama's control, that shaped the man, have made him completely the wrong choice as president in these days and times."

Wow. Just...wow.

Yep... Seems to indicate a remarkable lack of understanding of how social media "works" with regards to marketing and the major demographics of the platform. It's not surprising since most marketing professionals at the higher corporate levels still view social media marketing as a one way street going from marketer to the consumer and just another tool in the traditional marketing tool box.

He was a human who was abused by the Romulans, so to get revenge on the Romulans, he came up with a plan to take over Romulus and then use a doomsday weapon to kill humans. Granted, he also killed everyone in the Romulan Senate, but that was just so that he could take over as Praetor.
