So, will it be better or worse than Hancock 2, Bad Boys 3, and/or I, Robot 2?

2012-05-17 10:03:38 AM
Sybarite: I, Robot 2

nah, they should make it 'We, Robot' and it'll be a buddy comedy with smith and one of the robots, a la the odd couple

Everyone should just see Moonrise Kingdom that weekend instead.

MIB3 is popular? Lets talk after Memorial Day weekend.

I'd heard a rumor that due to some health issues Tommy Lee Jones didn't feel up to an MIB3, so they came up with this storyline.

No idea how true it is. I'm thinking it'll be a bit of silly entertainment once it's on Netflix.

Yes, it is a terrible, terrible movie. However, I'd argue its not even Will Smith's worst movie since he also made Wild Wild West.

For my money, Wing Commander is the worst movie I've ever seen.

Honestly.. I would probably spend 24 hours straight being strapped to a chair forced to watch Battlefield Earth the entire time before being subjected to 1 screening of any Michael Bay film(exception: The Rock).

That mans films fill me with an absurd level of homicidal rage. The fact that he's popular makes me wish every time somebody purchased a ticket to one of his films they would randomly explode at some point during the screening.

That man is killing cinema..

Worst movie ever? Hmm, that's a tough one.

What are the criteria exactly? If it has to be a big name movie, I would say the worst movie I've ever seen is "The Last Airbender." Literally the worst crap I've ever seen and as close as I've come to walking out of a movie.

As for just a terrible script and unintentional comedy, I have go to with Deep Blue Sea. That movie was so unintentionally bad, it was good!

MIB2 was just terrible. It doesn't even deserve to be ranked amongst the worst of all time. Why even include Johnny Knoxville as a comedic relief? It was terribad.

Are you insane? The Pledge is fantastic! Jack Nicholson's best performance in years, and it's just so damn bleak.

Gunny Highway: MDGeist: Fark hates a popular movie? Wow, this is so new...

MIB II is the worst movie I have ever seen.

Only those who have seen MIB II will understand what we're dealing with here. It made Ghostbusters II look like Hamlet. It made Weekend at Bernies II look like a Kubrick film. It made me yearn for "Ernest goes to Camp". To say it was the worst film ever is a dis-service to other horrible films, as it was quite a few steps below them.

MIB wasn't that good to begin with. Great idea, some good parts, but it went in too many directions and got too silly. In order for MIB 3 to work, they should go house to house find every person who has seen 2 then do the flashy thing to them so they have no recollection of seeing that monstrosity.

I may go see it just for Josh Brolin's TLJ impersonation. I love what I've seen so far in the trailers. If it's an awful movie, I'll still rent it. I'll wait to see what rottentomatoes has to say once it opens.

Still, I've sat through my share of awful movies

Planet of the Apes (Burton remake)
Circle of Iron (lost control of the Netflix queue over that one)
Highlander II
Matrix Revolutions
The Avengers (w/Uma Thurman & Ralph Fiennes)
Van Helsing
The Happening (I didn't want to see it but husband insisted. I then regained control of Netflix.)

I experienced confusion at the absence of any reference to any of the Twilight movies from any individual attempting to identify terrible movies however I have subsequently realised that none of those releases can technically be considered to be a "movie", as a "movie" by definition involves "acting" and a "plot".

That's a stupid list. Three actual movies and one whose title you just made up. This is Fark, and Highlander isn't obscure -- we would remember if there was a sequel.

Cinema died long before Bay came to power. It was only recently that we are seeing a rebirth of it.

Plus, I really enjoy Bay's movies. I like big explosions. Allows me to just sit there and turn my brain off and not have to think about anything. Its nice eye candy.

I haven't seen Troll 2 yet, but I watched the documentary about it last night. It's called Best Worst Movie and it's made by the kid who was the protagonist in Troll 2. Pretty fun movie. It's free on Hulu.

Still not sure I want to see Troll 2. Unlike a lot of people I know, I don't like bad movies. There is no "so bad it's good."

The whole charm of the first MIB was watching Will Smith playing Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones playing Tommy Lee Jones together. It worked.

It worked a little less well in MIB II due to all the damn story getting in the way.

So for this one, we shall have to see if Will Smith playing Will Smith and Josh Brolin playing Tommy Lee Jones works out. I'll give it a shot.

And what is with all the Krull hate? Who didn't want a bladed mind-controlled frisbee-like thing after seeing that one? Ok, I didn't care for the "greatest pain in the ass way to get information from an oracle" part. Or the ending. Or the fight with the alien. I guess I just liked the frisbee and that some of the so-called good guys actually died.

You guys are a bunch of fair princesses. If a movie has explosions, gunfights, space aliens, and the occasional booby, it has redeeming value.

What will deter me from seeing this is not a stupid plot, poor acting, or old-and-busted jokes. It will be 3D. I am done with 3D. It's dumb. It looks like shiat. It gives me a damn head ache.

I'll see this on a giant screen in good old fashioned 2D, and like it.

That is how I take craptacular movies too. I usually just make fun of them MST3K style.

yves0010: I usually just make fun of them MST3K style.

Which, speaking of, since we're on the worst movie kick, the worst film I've ever seen was Hobgoblins. As a MST3K fan, I've seen movies that were more incompetently produced. I've seen movies where they lost the audio track and so just had a narrator talk over the reel. I've seen Manos. I've seen everything Coleman Francis ever made.

None of those fill you with the same level of misanthropic loathing, utter hate for humanity, and pure revulsion of Hobgoblins. There's nothing redeeming about the film. There is nothing nice one can say about the film, the people who made it, or the people who found any element of it funny.

//Actually, the goth-rock "Pigsticker" song was actually pretty catchy. There. Something positive about the film. Of course, it sounds like they tried to use live audio and miked it terribly, so it's basically incomprehensible mush, so even the best thing about the film was farked up.

You are mistaken. The movie Highlander is the only "Highlander" movie released. A television programme titled "Highlander" was later created which followed a similar theme, but occurred within a different continuity. After cancellation, no other Highlander movies or television programmes were created.
