(NewsBusters)   Did you know? President Zaphod Beeblebrox once said, "If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now." Today, the Obama administration carries on that philosophy in a more tech-savvy way   (newsbusters.org) divider line 16

One of the major difficulties Americans experienced in their relationship with the GOP was learning to distinguish between them pretending to be stupid just to get people off their guard, pretending to be stupid because they couldn't be bothered to think and wanted someone else to do it for them, pretending to be outrageously stupid to hide the fact that they actually didn't understand what was going on, and really being genuinely stupid.

A quick comparable: If George W. Bush had arranged to insert "Did You Know?" promos of his administration's accomplishments and positions into other presidents' biographies on the White House's web site, does anyone think that the press would have ignored it?

Um, just got one thing to point out there, Sparky... Bush would have had to have ACCOMPLISHMENTS to post 'Did You Know?' promos, other wise it would have DEFINITELY received attention by the press, because it would have been hilarious.

As for being "ignored", I saw the story yesterday or the day before, and while I don't remember where I saw it, it definitely wasn't on one of the Right-wing alarmist sites like yours, so the press is not "ignoring" it.

I have no issue with this, and no issue with future Presidents adding their own accomplishments to future online biographies. Hell, I'd have been fine with Bush doing it. I see this as putting a historical context for today's policy, nothing more.

Do people expect media from the White House not to be biased in favor of the current office holder? Maybe Boner will stop acting like old school Starscream next.

It would be funny if it wasn't so hilarious.

it would be sad if it wasn't so pathetic.

This thread is now about Vogon poetry.

Oh flundered gruntbuggly,Donallitude
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled donally
On a lurgid bee
That mordiously hath bitled out
Its earted grabatiously
Into a rancid festering [drowned out by moaning and screaming]
Now the jurpling slayjid agrocrustles
Are slurping hagrilly up the axlegrurts
And living glupules frart and slipulate
Like jowling meated liverslime
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me
With crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or else I shall rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon
See if I don't.

Mouseover link (because I'm already not clicking on a News Busters link) - see "dear leader" in URL. Article is obviously moronic, pointless butthurt. Move on with life.

To Tea Baggers the press/media is any news source/blog/soapbox that doesn't report on exactly what they are thinking at the very moment. All of the other news sources that do report on exactly what they are thinking are not the press/media. Instead they are an underground network of patriots trying to spread the truth and cover topics that "they" don't want you to know about.

/Seriously, someone needs to make patriotic tinfoil.

The lack of these kinds of clever asides are why the THHGTTG movie was a pale shadow of the books.
