Part of the picture is from an infra-red image which makes vegetation show up red.

I think your snark detector needs recalibration.

I wonder if the KH spy satellite program has covered the entire world by now? That would be the highest resolution picture of the world.

Did I miss something or did they forget to add a link to the actually picture.

I doubt that they have covered the entire planet. They only photograph targets of interest like military installations and nude beaches.

There's a Sarah Palin joke in there somewhere...

I'm not quite sure what they mean by "highest resolution". I don't see any hockey pucks on the ice rinks in Russia, as the Key Hole images were purported to show. Also, unlike KH, the Russian satellite is geostationary, so it only "sees" one part of the earth...ever.

but at same time you want to be sure the Brazilians didn't start some project in the middle of the jungle. Probably a combination of feet on the ground spies and if they get word of something interesting you sent the bird to check it out.

I'm amazed there were no comments about how this proves Obama's war on the military is real and we need to start spending billions on spy satellites, considering this link was on Fox

121MP is about 11,000 x 11,000. At the equator that's not even 1km/pixel.

It might be the largest image, but it's not the highest-resolution image or even close. Resolution is about more than just pixel count.
