I'm sure all that time spent holding onto other sweaty shirtless men for money has made him a little sensitive to teh ghey.

Boxing is two guys wearing silk shorts and gloves fighting over a belt and a purse.

Something tells me Mr. Pacquiao is just closeted.

Manny is smart for being more concerned with Catholic Dogma than his fellow human beings. Look how much awesome stuff was done in the Phillipines by the Catholic church. They destroyed an ancient and established nation of indigenous people and had the grace to allow them to become feudal servants living in fear and guilt caused by religion. It would be hypocritical of Manny to support people seeking to be free from prejudice and discrimination over the church that made the Phillipines what it is today!

The Philippines have a strong Catholic presence. Not surprising.

There is a joke about gay hating boxers and BJJ in there somewhere but I can't find it.

You forgot to mention that he's also into cockfighting.

I'm not saying it was conquistadors, but it was conquistadors.

Wow, a person originally from a third world cesspool hates the gays. Shocking. Because in a third world cesspool, when you got nothing, you gotta find someone to hate who has it "worse" off than you.

//applies to Red States too

Conquistadors were the hand that enforced what happened. Conquest was fueled by Conversion as desired by the Church, who played a major hand in all the governance of Spain at that time.

Maybe that's why Mayweather is ducking him.

The number of Farks I give about Pac Man's stance on gay marriage is equal to the number of times he's stepped into the ring with Mayweather.

Was not aware of that. That's sad and it sucks.

That said, I see Pac as a boxer and nothing more. I'm not gonna celebrate his life or look up to him as a role model, but I'm not going to pretend that I was doing any of that stuff before.

As long as he doesn't, still don't care.

Given the hold the Catholic church has on Pacquiao's home country, anybody advocating gay marriage there would be seen as a Filistino.

Dear Catholics

If religion was about love, respect and tolerance instead of fear, control and intolerance it would still be relevant.

Normally I would agree, there's no reason to give a fark what an athlete or.celebrity's opinion is on a topic.

Manny's different though. He's an elected official. His opinions can have consequences.

People who elect a guy who gets punched in the head for a living to a position of power deserve what they get.

/besides, if not for idiots like him having power, who would America always be able to claim "at least we're better than..." about?

In fairness, Manny is now denying that he said that: Link

I used to be a Pacquiao fan, but after watching him on that HBO show about Freddie Roach, he really seems like a douchebag...

Why would that surprise you? There's probably 3 guys in the world involved in the boxing business at any level who aren't.

No, religion was a convenient justification for doing whatever it took to subjugate the natives to take their land and possessions.

No, I think your view of someone can drop because of that. It is fair.
