You know, I think Walmart will probably be one of the largest factors in the inevitable collapse of the United States, but how the fark can they be held liable for this?

Man up.

I mean, that's like blaming Walmart for these people:

I should have done this a long time ago.

I should have sued Wal-Mart when they announced a sale on "crackers". I was highly offended at that remark

2012-05-16 12:05:22 AM
Wow, that guy is a major pussy.

/I hope he reads that and needs years more "medical care" to recover due to his extreme sensitivities as a pussy-assed pussy.

Battie claims he has needed medical care due to the March 2010 comment. He says it caused him "severe and disabling emotional and psychological harm."

Someone needs to shoot this pathetic excuse for a human being

Hey, they keep Cheese Nips right there on the shelves to offend Asians. And if the Asians haven't sued over that yet, you don't get to sue over plain old crackers.

If a "comment" requires you to need medical care you had WAY bigger problems before that.

Somehow I think his little lawsuit is going nowhere. WalMart's flotilla of lawyers will crush him.

2012-05-16 02:39:18 AM
Did the kid actually say "would all black people please leave the store" or was it more along the lines of "get the F outta here you n words". The first way is far more polite and is what the article suggests he said.

He's banking on them settling so he goes away. Most people like that do.

If I remember correctly the kid said exactly what was quoted in the article

FTFA "A 16-year-old boy was arrested days later and charged with harassment and bias intimidation."

Huh? They arrested a child for saying something?

That Nanny State has no sense of humor, or proportion, or an understanding of what to take seriously and what to ignore.

I hate racism in any way, shape or form, and I despise Walmart. But this guy is a wimpy asshole. The kid was not a Walmart employee. I don't see how they are remotely liable. Medical attention? Really?!?

shiat like this detracts from real institutionalized racism.

/no thanks needed, just share the settlement money with me

Also, it's hard to take him seriously when this kid's remarks are balanced out by the fact that he has the run of the store while other races are confined to a single combination aisle.

Pretty much. However, they needed to better secure their intercom system. Were the kids relatives of employees? or just not enough people on the floor to make sure that no one touched the phones except employees?

You consider a 16 year old to be a child?

A moderately offensive statement by a convicted 3rd party is worth something like 40 years of the average yearly wage? Sounds legit

2012-05-16 05:26:11 AM
People like this should be held accountable for legal fees and court fines for frivolous lawsuits....Walmart will most likely settle this out of court since it will be cheaper for them to do so........instead companies should be able to fight lawsuits like this...then have the loser pay their court costs. That would make a lot of these go away, and put a lot of ambulance chasing lawyers out of business.

The state considers him a child if you have sex with him or hit him, but an adult if he misbehaves in a Wal-Mart.

/Way to bring a frivolous lawsuit to the table over someone saying "black". Go fark yourself and stop being a discredit to your race. Way to reenforce the stereotype.

What the article said he said. But it's NJ, which in my experience takes racism to a level you don't really see outside of the South. In 1855.
