Buying anything for civilians called "Tactical" gives you automatic membership in the Bona Fide Wanker Club for Men.

Tawnos: Last I checked, both WA and OR were on the "left coast", and both are open carry states, WA more than OR, but both infinitely more than TX or FL.

I was pretty heavily tongue in cheek there, but yes I am aware that WA and OR are more common sense than the peoples republic of California.

The point mostly is that if you want to take a position of public trust (by carrying a gun), you should also be willing to dress up slightly. Maybe it is just my increasingly low tolerance for the proliferation of tacticool stuff.

Your equipment does not determine your role in society. Buying an entire wardrobe of 5.11 clothing, and a whole arsenal of weapons does not make you an operator. It makes you a glorified airsoft player that is more likely than most people to shoot someone with real bullets.

Christ, not another concealed-carry clothing product that screams, "SHOOT ME FIRST!"..

I find a compact weapon, IWB holster, and roomy shirt makes for a much more subtle approach.

reillan: this. Look, I'm all for gun rights, etc... but the moment you start thinking of yourself as a warrior just because you carry a tiny death machine in your hands, you become a plague on society...

I'm not sure about "plague", but I do think it's a stretch at least. It's a method of self-defense. I carry, and I can't think of a single reasonable definition of "warrior" that wouldn't be strained to the breaking point by being applied to me. For that matter, maybe I carry because I'm *not* a warrior.

BurnShrike: "These pants are engineered for battle, and for everyday operating. For warriors, by warriors."

You're out shopping for truck testicles. It's not a battle ground. It's a store on a city street.

Farking maniacs.
