How about a lesbian sex scene between Ginger and Mary Ann?

/Wait, I may have misread the headline...

They better go full blown Gus dead cartel violence next season. Maybe those headless bodies in Mexico were viral marketing?

Working on the Wire right now, almost done with season 1. GoT will have to do a lot of heavy lifting to make a run at Breaking Bad. They are very different shows, it's a little easier to keep the tension up with only one story line to move. GoT could move up depending on how they tie in/up all the characters as the show progresses. Breaking Bad definitely wins the cinematography category though. A prettier show I have not seen in ages.

Just started GoT, so I can't really comment yet. But you did leave out the greatest show of all time (of all time!) The Shield.

I don't know if Walter kills him, but I definitely see him going down as collateral damage.

Walt killed Mike's employer. Mike is going to be upset with Walt.

I'm about halfway through season 2 -- this show has some of the best and most creative filming I've ever seen in a tv show.

I just started paying attention to this show (five episodes in) and I gotta say, it's pretty damn good.

idk why that made me laugh as hard as it did

I'm waiting for hank to discover walt and for a full on battle between the DEA and mexican cartels.

I bet there was a tiny voice in the back of vince gilligan's head telling him that they should incorporate that into the show somehow and maybe..just maybe it might bring in some more viewers if they use stuff like that in an ad

Aw HELL NAW. Dexter gets disqualified on seasons two and six right away. I haven't seen a main character go full retard like Dex did during the last half of six since... well, ever. It isn't even in the top ten of what's on right now.

2012-05-14 05:39:01 PM
Jessie finds out what Walt did, runs into Hank and tips him off. Cartels war with DEA. During a crossfire Walt's wife and sister in law are killed. Everyone stops, votes that the world is now a better place and go on their merry ways.

In the next too last scene Walter is shaking everone's hand when he falls over. Cut to funeral and we find he had an anuerysm.

Might have believed you if Dexter had stayed on season 2, or season 3 never existed and season 4 took its place.
As it stands now, Dexter is a pile of garbage.
For me, it's more like

Breaking Bad = The Wire > Game of Thrones

/The Wire Season 2 is the finest television ever made
//flame suit on

2012-05-14 05:48:57 PM
Deadwood > Breaking Bad > Game of Thrones > The Wire > Dexter*

(unless you mean the first 2 seasons of Dexter, in which case I would move it above The Wire.)

I really wanted to like The Wire, but it seemed to venture into that angry cop/gonna break the rules/Riggs cliche thing, and that tended to distract me to the point that I couldn't focus on the rest of the show for wondering what formulaic crap McNulty would do next.

I would also put The Sopranos up there somewhere, too (prolly above GoT).

The Wire > BB.

I haven't seen any of the others under consideration.

I've said to friends that the only way to make Walter suffer (and he deserves to suffer) is to strike at his heart (family).

My prediction of a final scene on the show would be Walter catching Jr lighting up some blue meth.

No. Especially not after last season, which completely wasted Colin Hanks and Edward James Almos, in addition to just generally sucking.

Breaking Bad is, in my opinion, the best thing in TV in years, if not ever. Easily top 3.

That being said, I was very disappointed with season 4's ending. Too cartoony, way over hyped. I love the show and loved the season, but that last episode...I just wish it had played differently.

Breaking Bad > The Wire > Mad Men

Game of Thrones? More like Lame of Groans. Just b/c they kill off major characters and incest is a major plot point doesn't make it unique and great. All the actors look the same except with different (and sometimes terrible) accents and I got really tired of hearing about how winter was coming. If I want to see incestuous Ren Faire participants, I watch the Borgias. Which is better than Game of Thrones.

I would put Breaking Bad and The Wire at the top. The Wire has rewatchability in the sense that you catch things you missed the first time; it's almost better the second time around. Breaking Bad is a beautiful show with some of the best cinematography on television.

I was kinda hoping Vince would do 16 one episode seasons. That would take the series through to 2028.

At that point, they could finish the series up with a big screen movie.

The Borgias is good, but the poduction values alone make GoT the better show. The Borgias is a lot like I, Claudius: the writing and acting carry the show, but every scene takes place on one of three sets.

Nope, just the wife of a nerd who suffered through a year of that horseshiat. Psst...Winter is coming.

Cannot wait for Breaking Bad though. I wish someone savvy would splice together some Malcolm in the Middle and BB clips together.

The Holy Trifecta is The Wire - Breaking Bad - Sopranos. pick your order.

The tv equivalent of Bloom County - Calvin and Hobbes - The Far Side.

also the person in this thread who said Walt Jr doing blue meth. that is a very intriguing thought.

Can't put Breaking Bad above The Wire until they finish it. A series is only as strong as its weakest season, which often is the last.

Once they wrap it up we can size it up to The Wire.

You left out the part where they tracked the cartel to a small farm just outside of Atlanta. They found a whore of a mother who's son kept killing people because he wouldn't stay in the damn house. The mother and son were then dissolved in drums of hydroflouric acid.

Agreed, I'm very jealous. I just finished watching all 4 seasons in the span of a week and I'm completely sucked in. Constantly thinking about it. Oh well, Diablo will distract me soon enough.
