I think we subconsciously relate them to our political system. Count Chocula is the Democrat, Frankenberry is the GOP, and Boo Berry is the Libertarian.

It's all in the name and how you relate it.

FrankenBerry - Frankenstein
Count Chocula - Count Dracula
Boo Berry - Blueberry (meh)

Fruit Brute - uh... Scoot 'n toot
Yummy Mummy - cougarlife.com

I should convince my family to each eat a different cereal. Someone's been choking the bowl and the colour-coded clogger could solve the mystery.

Boo Berry always looked like he was drunk. Reminded me of my old man. I always pictured ol' human Boo sitting in an office, writing an editorial on how two ply toilet paper was going to deforest the planet. The boss comes in, tells him there have been some changes and they don't include him. Security escorts Boo to the front of the building, they drop all his stuff and the clay ashtray Boo Jr made him breaks.

Boo is 53 and the writing market is for the young. He walks down to the train but he just can't stand to get on the train going home. Not at this hour. So he buys himself a bottle of vodak and rides the Metra north. The nice neighborhoods. He sips from the Vodak and watches the scenery. Somewhere north of Waukegan, he hops off the train and just walks. He keeps heading north along the rails. The sun is setting. There's a train coming south. Pretty empty but it'll fill up when it gets in to the city. Boos says "What the hell" and jumps in front of the train.

Next thing he knows, he's a haunting good way to start a kid's breakfast.

My parents never bought "sugar cereals" - just the plain-Jane Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Grapenuts.

One of the highlights of sleepovers at friends' houses was getting to eat Fruit Loops for breakfast.

My entire life since has been a futile effort to fill the void. Weep with me.

Fruit Brute was the one I could never remember at trivia. Probably because he doesn't match his name. Every other character is directly related to their name but Fruit Brute is a wolf thing.

Their real problem is whatever crap chemicals they put in their cereals. I don't know what General Mills uses but I'm allergic to like 90% of the stuff they have. Especially Honey Nut Cheerios, holy shiat if I eat that I'm sick for days.

You're about 34 years slow on that joke:

snltranscripts.jt.org

Al Franken: Thak you, thank you! Thank you very much! Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Tom is backstage, uh.. getting dressed. Before we start the show tonight, there's something that I'd like to get off my chest, it's been really bugging me. As you know, "The Franken & Davis Show" has rocketed me to stardom.. and, of course, I'm thrilled about it. But, unfortunately, a few unscrupulous people have.. tried to.. capitalize on the success of "The Franken & Davis Show", and.. well, something ugly has happened. A few days ago, I was in the supermarket, I was in the dry cereal section, and I saw this! [ holds up a box of the cereal Frankenberry" ] "Franken Berry"! Okay? Franken Berry cereal. This is my name! They're using my name - Franken ...

snltranscripts.jt.org

- and this is my face! I mean, look at this! [ turns the box around to reveal a full-sized potrait of the pinkish Frankenberry monster - Al mimics the facial expression ] Huh? Okay? This is.. this is my mouth.. my nose - can you see that? They've got my glasses.. and this is the worst part, look at this.. [ covers everything below the head ] Can you see that? They're using my rear end! Can you see that? They're using my charisma to push a breakfast cereal, and I just. I just had to get that.. get that off my chest, and we're suing the Big G! Let me just say that.

They either changed the recipe for Count Chokula, keep burning the crap, or I'm just getting old... but both I've eaten some from 3 or so boxes over the past few years and that shiat is just nasty now.

Frakenberry is edible at least.

Boo Berry was my favorite cereal as a kid, but difficult to find these days, as they only run it seasonally and in certain locations.

Nowadays, I mostly eat boring grown-up cereals, but as chance would have it, my brother works in one of the big General Mills plants, and I have him send me a couple boxes of Boo Berry now and then.

I feel your pain. Wheaties and Shredded Wheat--not spoon sized and not frosted. Plain oatmeal. No brown sugar, no maple syrup, no sugar--just milk. I am still in therapy.
