This makes me sad. My roommate and I would always riff it together. At least we still have NCIS LA.

I'd always regarded this CSI installment as a spoof of the franchise anyway.

My favorite part of the four-panel meme is that he's already wearing sunglasses, and then he puts on another pair of sunglasses.

So, do we:

Throw Horatio off the Biscayne Tower?
Feed him to the sharks from a Donzi 21?
or Have his Hummer explode in a ball of flames on the 395 causeway?

Rig his sunglasses to explode.

An exit most poetic.

Man, I wish I had been smart enough to think of it that way. Instead I always saw it as raping the pretention CSI always had of at least being semi-scientific procedural about evidence gathering and investigation.

I'll be honest. It was the chicks wearing 4000 lbs of makeup for a crime scene investigation/autopsy that just killed it for me. It just couldn't even be bothered to pretend to pay attention to anything.

Or that the same people doing autopsies and investigating the crime scenes are the ones carrying pistols, interrogating suspects, and making arrests?

I think these jobs tend to be mutually exclusive.

Like on ER, when George clooney would look over the x-rays, perform the surgery and sometimes administer anesthesia?

Between the two spinoffs, Miami had far better ratings and if I recall inked an expanded syndication deal (I forget with whom).

If I had been a betting man as to which would've gotten the ax... I would've lost big time.

The most recent episodes I've seen, which were at least 3 or 4 years ago, had plots less plausible than GTA San Andreas and such sci-fi tech that I presumed by now they would have fought the Borg.

That photo was taken before she puffed up her upper lip and the surrounding area of her face. I don't understand why actresses do that, but it's so bad in most cases that it's distracting. Damned shame.

Everyone involved in the show must have been doing Miami Vice amounts of cocaine. The production and post-production people appeared to be competing to see who could be more ridiculous. Let's split the screen... in FOUR PANES!!! Let's animate... THE ENGLISH SUBTITLES!!! Saturate those warm Florida yellows... SATURATE THEMMMMM!!! It was like a crazy bad eighties music video. I imagine that people watched it mainly because it was fun to ridicule.

So much this.

The problem is they moved it to Sunday night, and then let the damn running long sporting events push "The Good Wife" back, totally screwing up viewers and DVR's. I lost track of how many episodes I deleted because I would start playing it and see "CSI will be run in entirety at 9:40" on a crawl. If you're going to schedule something that could run long, put enough crap on that you can completely skip without screwing up the entire prime time programming.

"Saturate those warm Florida yellows..."

We were talking about it at work one day and decided to class them by filter. Original (Vegas) is no filter, Miami is Orange Filter, and NY is Blue Filter.

Hawaii Five-O does that stuff too. It's the only reason I'd turn those shows on--because the colors are so pretty.

I caught part of one episode where the opening involved Carusso getting involved in a high speed chase and taking down one of the suspects. Then he casually asks the other officers(both of whom he knew by first name) what the trouble is. The disconnect was so over the top you'd think they were doing it on purpose, except they try to play it so freaking seriously.

I think the ratings were so high because most people watched it as a joke and to get a good laugh out of it. In the last 3 seasons though it seems that everybody involved in the show had caught on and they started playing into it and really going over the top with the corniness.

I don't know, it ended with everyone sitting around at a restaurant and being nostalgic and it just had that feeling of how a lot of series ends.
