What, no Cersei Lannister? She does love her children. That's her one redeeming feature.

I like Rosanne. And

thinks the list sucks.

I like Roseanne, barring her last season (though the series finale was interesting). I'm still a fan.

Peggy Bundy!

One post too late. Thanks

List fails without Mallory Archer. That is all.

Oops. Looks like EW changed something; those direct links to the slides only work if you replace the ",00.html" in the middle with an underscore.

I hate these lists written by a 30 year old of series that were in the past 10 years.

Lucy is so awesome, she's still in syndication, what 60+ years later? Donna Reed. Jane Wyatt (not only in her own series, but Spock's mom - how cool is that?), Carolyn Jones (as Morticia Addams), Dianne Carroll (who IIRC was the first black woman to head a series as a mom who was a nurse).

List fails without Livia Soprano. No other TV mother tried to get her son whacked. Twice.

Well, Lucille Bluth DID certainly get into the who mother thing.

I'm just not sure if I would call her the "best" at it.

Happy Mother's Day from Julie Bowen's twins (might be NSFW).

Come to think of it, where's Skyler White? Has any other TV mom gone from innocent expecting mother to laundering meth profits through a car wash obtained by fraudulent means?

Glad to see Mrs. Coach on there.

Roseanne was a great show.

Roseanne was an awesome Mom, not the greatest person but an awesome mom.

Roseanne was an awesome Mom, not the greatest person but an awesome mom.

On the other hand, Peggy Bundy was the opposite.

Roseanne was a pretty groundbreaking show and character, subby. I guess you were born in the late 90s or something?

Roseanne was a great show and mom. I even like Roseanne on her new Hawaiian Nut Farm show with homeless Beast Boy.

2012-05-13 02:25:55 PM
Roseanne was a refreshing change from decades of squeaky clean and ridiculously fake sitcom families.

Roseanna was a great mom. Joyce Summers was a TERRIBLE mother. We loved her, but SHEESH, she really was lacking in the brains department. Her daughter is off killing vampires every night, and she's completely clueless...WTF?

I mean, it was a sad episode when she died, but she was no mother of the year.

List absolutely fails without

The original MILF.

Temperance Brennan? She's been a mother for 2-3 episodes. Of a newborn.
meh.

I actually couldn't stand her. I'm not sure why, she just grated on my nerves. Though not nearly as bad as that nagging harpy biatch from Everybody Loves Raymond.

List fails without June Cleaver or Donna (Reed) Stone or any other Mom from the 50s'.

2012-05-13 04:16:29 PM

Lipspinach: Temperance Brennan? She's been a mother for 2-3 episodes. Of a newborn.
meh.

I came to say this.

And to whoever castigated the author for not picking older shows. This as well.

As long as there's no derp spewing from her mouth about her political opinions, sure.

Linda Flynn-Fletcher frowns on this list.

BOOM! Paula Small: one of the best worst moms on TV.

What, no Caroline Ingalls?

2012-05-14 03:29:01 PM
June Lockhart. Mom twice: Lost in Space and she was Lassie's mom as well.
