zoobaby: ScouserDuck: fark this season, I'm glad it's over. NYOY!

Of course, out of every single matchup, liverpool is playing on the only channel that doesn't have an HD equivilant. Who am I kidding. We're all watching city.

Does this make us bad supporters?

Nope... I'm sure utd fans with 1 tv will be watching city at least 50% of the time.

Found it: I Know The Score EPL prediction league

Here's their Scoring System

Correct Result = 30 Pts
Correct Draw = 20 Pts
Correct Goal Diff = 15 Pts
Correct Outcome = 10 Pts
Wrong Outcome = -10 Pts
Banker = x2 or x3
Insurance = Min 0 Pts

Wrong outcome -10
Example: You predict Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 1 and the result is Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 2

Correct outcome but wrong goal difference +10
Example: You predict Arsenal 2 - Chelsea 1 and the result is Arsenal 4 - Chelsea 2

Correct outcome and correct goal difference +15
Example: You predict Arsenal 2 - Chelsea 1 and the result is Arsenal 3 - Chelsea 2

The draw predicted correctly but incorrect result +20
Example: You predict Arsenal 2 - Chelsea 2 and the result is Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 1

Correct result +30
Example: You predict Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 2 and the result is Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 2

Correct Banker Placement x2 or x3
If you place the Banker Chip on any correct outcome your points score for that fixture is multiplied. If a fixture contains a team that finished within the top 4 league places in the previous Gameweek the multiplier will be x2 otherwise it will be x3.

Correct Insurance Placement 0
Example: If you placed your Insurance chip on a fixture whose outcome you predicted incorrectly then the worst you can score is 0.

Banker Bonus
If you place your Banker correctly your Banker Bonus for the following week is credited with +5 points up to a maximum of +20. If you place your Banker incorrectly, your Banker Bonus is reset to zero for the following week. If you decide not to play your Banker your bonus will be protected but you will not score your bonus for that Gameweek.

On correct outcome the Banker Bonus works as follows:
Wk0 0
Wk1 +5
Wk2 +10
Wk3 +15
Wk4 (maximum) +20
Wk5 (maximum) +20

I'm not entirely sure what that last bit means without researching it more.

Best player - RVP, no argument there, carried his team. Although I'm not completely upset that Kompany won it
Best team - Swansea or Norwich. Throughly enjoyed watching NUFC playing both of these teams in dramatic games. I really think they both have the ability to become steady premier league players
Best manager - Pardew (Obviously)
Best transfer - Papiss Demba Ba Cisse
Best game - NUFC/Man U. Was watching that game with my best friend who is actually from Manchester and it was just so sweet. I honestly felt bad for him at the end of the game.
Most under-rated player - Vorm/Greant Holt. Great seasons for both of them.
Overachievers - NUFC, no matter where we finish, we had a hell of a season and I think we are no longer the laughing stock of the league
Underachievers- Liverpool, "Jose Enrique we're in the top 5! Jose Enrique we're in the top 5!"
Biggest flop - Kenny Dalglish

On correct outcome the Banker Bonus works as follows:
Wk0 0
Wk1 +5
Wk2 +10
Wk3 +15
Wk4 (maximum) +20
Wk5 (maximum) +20

Ta very much.

I think it means that if you correctly use your 'banker' in consecutive weeks, you build up additional points in addition to the banker multiplier. C-c-c-combo?

I think we'd want something that allowed lots of flexibility wrt submitting predictions and people dropping in and out. Also low admin.

midpoint: I'll be there.

I was there - LA - two weeks ago!

By "I'll be there" I mean, I'll be in New York next season, save for the first couple weeks. I'm planning on watching matches at Tonnage's pub so anyone passing through should meet up.

A look back at my pre-season predictions. I was clearly in a funny mood that day. And I don't mean funny ha-ha.

Ones to watch. This was a mixed bag at best.
Cleverley, AVB, Mancini, Ramsey, Suarez, Modric, Westwood, Barkley, Duff, Long, Nzogbia, Obertan, O' Hara, Eagles, Hoolahan, McCarthy, Graham, Hoilett, Taarabt.

Incorrect predictions:

David de Gea will be named in the players' team of the year.

Anderson will have his most prolific goalscoring season so far.

Jack Wilshere will receive a straight red card.

Junior Hoilett will leave Blackburn in January.

Josh McEachran will be a first team regular by the end of the season.

Top scorers, in no particular order: Chicharito, Drogba, Suarez. Actually, that's in alphabetical order.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the next Theo Walcott. That isn't a compliment, by the way.

Ravel Morrison will either score in a cup game or be imprisoned.

Ryo Miyachi > Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Barcelona will win the sunny SPL.

Barcelona will win the Champions League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will get a league winners medal for the millionth year running.

These two are spectacular:

Regarding Chelsea finishing above City: I hope adventure beats tedium.

Predicted table: 13th Newcastle.

Meh predictions:

Ashley Young and Nani will be in top five for assists. As of yesterday, Nani was joint 5th and Young was joint 14th. Antonio Valencia was joint 2nd.

Top Irish scorer: Shane Long. As of yesterday, he was second (on 7) behind Anthony Pilkington (8).

Arsenal's annual implosion will begin at Anfield on the first weekend in March after Jack Wilshere is concussed by a water bottle thrown by Arsene Wenger. Like I said, funny mood.

Anders Lindegaard will be one of the top 10 goalkeepers in England. And if I can't trust myself to make such an arbitrary and subjective decision, who can I trust?

Leicester and Southampton will be promoted, party like it's 1999.
One out of two ain't bad.

Correct predictions:

Aston Villa: Now more meh than previously.

Blackburn: Rubbish owners, rubbish manager, mostly rubbish players. The question is whether they sack Kean before it's too late.

Vincent Kompany will be Manchester City's best player.

Raheem Sterling will make his debut.

Paul Pogba will make his debut.

Paul Pogba will be named in the matchday squad for a Champions League group game.

Ashley Young > Stewart Downing

Tom Cleverley > Jordan Henderson

Darron Gibson > Jordan Henderson

Celtic will win the SPL.

These two are spectacular:

Luis Suarez will be right at the very top of the 'brilliant player / utterly detestable prick' group of players.

Liverpool: Staggering amounts of money spent on deeply average players. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Two Liverpool fans had a go at me for this one. Newcastle fans didn't seem to care that I said they'd finish one place above Wolves and City fans didn't seem to care that I said they'd finish behind Chelsea, but this one was a problem for two Liverpool fans.

NUFC fans didn't seem to care because that's about where we all thought they would finished haha. This is the first season where my usually extremely pessimistic attitude towards NUFC didn't work out for me, Thank god.

I don't believe that. He's featured in all the promos for liverpool's new kit (which is awesome by the way). Kyut and Carrigher OTOH (they're typically used every year).

The rumor mill has been silently saying all year that either Skrtel or Agger would be on the out this year. I thought it was BS, if anyone was going o be done this year in our defense it was Carra.
