GO CAPS!

/Prediction for game scheduling for the West Final: LA Lakers play a game 7 tonight vs Denver. If the Lakers lose (please please please), we will know the full conference finals schedule tonight since at worst, Staples Center will have to work with only 1 NBA team. If the Lakers win, we won't know the schedule until after the Clippers finish their game 7 tomorrow afternoon.

I hereby propose solving the problem, should it arise, by playing seven games in Phoenix: four at the Jobber, three at America Whatsit where the Suns play. For hockey purposes, the latter can be temporarily renamed the fark Quebec Coliseum.

/bedtime for me

That would be my hope too. I honestly don't care who wins, I have reasons to like/dislike each team almost equally. All I really want is a great game that goes on for quite a while where the refs are essentially invisible.

/This one certainly works but I liked the Nicole referenced headline myself
//Congrats to the Holtby's on their recent call up

FishyFred: Benjamin?

Holtby and his fiancee had a son on Thursday, named Benjamin: LGT the story.

Clock watching here, can this day possibly drag any more slowly?

I can't decide what I want to happen more, the Clippers advancing while the Lakers are eliminated or the Kings getting the Staples Center all to themselves.

I know, right? Still two and a half hours to go. Ugh. I've had less than 7 hours of sleep in the past two days, and yesterday I was up for 23 frigging hours straight. Only to get less than 5 hours sleep when I finally went to bed. I farking hate random bouts of insomnia. Makes the days drag even slower.

Damn it all. Go Rangers. Torts stills needs to adjust his tactics. Full speed ahead doesn't work with 5 people sitting on the blue line. Dump and chase doesn't work when no one can consistently win along the boards. Gotta draw the Caps out and race past them on the counter attack.

I don't really see winning on the boards as the problem, the Rangers have done a good job cycling the puck in my opinion, it just never really results in quality chances. If the goals faced the end boards, they'd have 40 goals in this series.

When they actually can cycle it, yes, they put a lot of pressure on the Caps. When the puck starts getting pinned, that's where comes unglued for them. It seems like, in this series at least, they are rarely able to dig the puck out and start the offense again.

There's always one consistent area of the ice that usually proves a the high ground. About 4 feet from the boards in, blue line to the trapezoid. Control that, you usually got your passing lanes clogged and shots come from crappy angles.

Tonight, whoever battles for that area, especially down in the corners since the goalies are way too damn good, should have a good chance of winning.

I'm not stupid enough to guarantee anything on game 7. It could very well be 50 shots and 0 goals.

Not sure how much or if I'll be around or even watching the game - but the last time I missed he first five sixths of a game 7, the Rangers beat the Senators, so I'm OK with that! GO RANGERS!

2012-05-12 07:03:04 PM
Vegas odds is 4 1/2 O/U on goals with the Rags at -150 and the Caps at +130. I guess there's more money on Washington tonight.

I'm a bit confused. Fark and NHL.com say the game starts at 7:30pm ET, but my cable guide is listing it as 5:00pm PT (or 8:00pm ET)???

Mentioning Holtby's Mom, or that Holtby's Mom is now a Grandma?

The latter is clearly covered by Point 1
